Rarity on gear ruins the experience

Yeah but it's not an OR.

It's IIQ and IIR.

You get IIQ on Atlas, Tablets and Maps.

You get IIR on gear and Atlas, Tablets and Maps.

I'm happy with how IIQ works today as it's not build specific. Everyone can have IIQ nodes in their atlas, tablets and maps regardless of what build they choose to run.

The same isn't true for IIR on gear.

I'd much rather do a 100IIQ map with a 400IIR char than with a 100IIR.

And the other ingredients of the loot-splosion recipe: packs/pack size/rares have more mods

I had over 170 rarity for a long time and didn't drop a perfect jeweler in over 500 hours. Then I dropped 3 within 2 days. Then I dropped more. It has nothing to do with rarity if you're getting a perfect jeweler and the impact it has on divine drops is minimal as well. You are robbing yourself by having a false perception of reality.

If item rarity does not have any noticable impact, it's pointless stat. One way or another I would still prefer to remove it from the gear. In fact, I'm struggling to find single good reason to keep it.

this last sentence what i was thinking. We have people who dislike MF, we have people who dont care, do we even have people who enjoys it and if there are, whats their reasoning?

When I got enough MF i feel like i did another thing on my checklist.

Like
- Resistance capped? Check
- Enough DPS? Check
- 100+ MF? Check

And I love checklists.
The ONLY thing wrong with rarity, as that it effects currency drops, if they would remove this and have it directly effect more rare drops and Uniques it'd be fine.

I agree with OP. Magic find is garbage. Game would be better if it was removed.

...and gold drops ...and acts as a weird More multiplier for item quantity (Yes that's a real thing people found through mass testing. It's very minor, but WTF.) ...and a bunch of other weird things that "rarity of items found" shouldn't effect in any way shape or form.

Your personal experience doesn't say anything about the droprate of MF in the grand scheme of things.
