Unique Item Changes Didn't Go Far Enough

I appreciate GGG’s effort to improve Unique Items in Patch 0.1.1, but unfortunately the developers didn’t go far enough and many of them are simply relegated as trophy items. The recent changes are borderline useless as they only added small amounts of core attributes, resistances, defense, etc. I think we need a bold approach to buff unique items to make them build enabling or just flat out better than the vast majority of rare items of the same level range. Below are a few suggestions for further improvement:

* Unique melee weapons offer superior physical/elemental damage
* Unique caster weapons offer higher innate spell levels/damage
* Unique armor offer general +X levels (e.g. +1 all skills)
* Unique gloves offer specific +X levels (e.g. +1 to fire skills)
* Unique boots offer superior movement speed
* Unique belts offer more charm slots
* New recipe to upgrade base of lower-level unique to match endgame base

For real, man. This is the only game where I feel like devs just want to punish players instead of giving tools to have fun. Everything in this game is carefully designed to be frustrating and overtuned from the mobs and bosses perspective, but the players just take the RNG heavy part.
You either cheese this game or simply don't enjoy it.

I actually like the difficulty of the game, but want uniques to be godly finds along the way and not utter trash or put in the stash as a collectible.

They don't want uniques to be better than rares unless they are build-enabling. That's "the vision".
Upgrades are frequent enough during the campaign that they could afford to make uniques actually good for leveling, rather than what we have now which is "when the hell would I ever use this, not even while levelling a new character."

That's a shame that unique weapons often have worse damage than their rare counterparts. When would they ever be used?

Man I totally agree with you, Path of Chores simply isn't doing it for me. This game has the worst loot in any ARPG I've ever played and it's just sad.

The problem is their vision isn't even working.

1) Their build enabling uniques are not good enough to waste time building around. They don't have to best in slot or even better than high end rares. They just need to have a strong reason to use them. They dont.

2) Their vision isn't even consistent. This game has more than one best in slot uniques right now. This makes no sense. Pick a lane ffs.
Some of these uniques have weird mods that a lvling player will not want to spend time figuring out unless it's going to pay off in the end game. They simply aren't strong enough.
