I played this game for 350 hours and here is why I stopped

I like this game very much. I played 1800 hours of POE1 in a year, as a comparison. Problem is, even if the game is a success to me, the EA is a complete failure. At least right now. Here is why.
If you do not play one of the 5-6 meta builds who can clear screens of content then you can't run breaches, you struggle in rituals and you will have problems in citadels and against pinnacle. This is not what "testing a game" should feel like. Right now, everyone should not only be encouraged to be gods but also have the tools to do so without having to be meta. Which is far from being the case. I was expecting massive boosts and nerfs on a regular basis because this is not standard league (or even a regular league). This is a test phase to make sure everything works as expected. But how can we know this if we are not allowed to play those skills? How can we test each skills if only a few of them are viable in end game? For now, I have stopped playing POE2. Will see on the next patch what I do. Last bumped on Jan 27, 2025, 3:52:24 PM

this is a possible skill issue or it could be a symptom of not being high enough level to blast T15 content. being able to over-level a little would help sub S tier builds, but how XP is designed its very hard to climb over 90

Playing offmeta, making offmeta, encouraging offmeta.
Offmeta builds are cool, and strong, but people either can't find it under the pile of meta trash, or don't want to play weaker builds when there's stronger builds like howa or stormweaver. |

Playing a single league for 350h seems more than enough or possibly too much to me. Game must be perfect or something.

" This is what makes me wonder, is there a single person in their group, that is not totally incompetent... The gas grenade / storm bolts nerf came so soon. Yet, you hardly see anyone using those grenades for end game. Clueless people. Totally clueless and incompetent... All nerfs and buffs came wrong, and the actual builds that zoom through maps, are more or less untouched. I am amazed beyond description. |
