What preparation and what strategy?

Go into map, AOE everything, collect loot, go out.
Repeat 100 times.
Log out.

Do the same next day.

What strategy man?
It POE 1 strategy...

Glad you're doing well at the game, I look forward to your rage post when they nerf all the obviously unintended broken stuff.
My only "issue" or "concern" is the exp requirements for leveling above 95.
The way exp loss is working is too extreme for higher levels, as it's getting more and more punishing for each level. The time commitment needed to level past 95 is simply ridiculous in my opinion. It feels like lv 100 is only for the most degenerate hardcore players and simply a dream for casual or semi casual players.

I personally didn't want to do bosses to get my atlas passives for the league mechanics because i didn't want to take the chance to lose those % of exp if i failed. Then when i leveled up, I instantly did them all without even dying.
That to me is an issue. Maybe that's just me being "too serious" or something along those lines.

Legitimately, yeah. It's a stretch goal...like raid mounts in WoW, or how tons of games have those REALLY hard achievements that like 0.1% of people get. Wanna platinum The Binding of Isaac? Prepare for some PAIN. If the negatives outweigh the positives for you personally, just know you'll be just as good at level 95.

One portal per map is the only reason why defenses are actually part of the meta.

Without it people would just level to an acceptable number, something like 92, like in PoE1 and than use the good old 6 portal defense technique.
The actual real truth is 1 death was only implemented to slow you down since they knew they would be on vacation and major patches would need some time.

They never intended to keep the one death mechanic. It's only to squeeze as much playtime out of you during a content drought.

It's not permanent.

Last time I played, mounts don’t require that you do the raid ten million times, although I haven’t played wow in about ten years.

Just that it's also a stretch goal. Most people in WoW don't raid, at least not at Mythic level. Just like most people in PoE don't even hit maps. I didn't mean the raid mounts take forever (although some have like 1% drop chances), just that it's okay to have things exist that 99.9% of people won't ever see.
Leveling is not rewarding with or without a death penalty. It’s just a very poor proxy for /played

I understand what you are trying to say. But if this game didn't require you to greatly respect core game mechanics and execute appropriate strategy. We wouldn't have 100 people raging on the forums about XP penalty and 1 death maps

THIS EXACTLY.... good work my good Sir. This is what it looks like to provide feedback without doing a simple rage and asking for a core design principle and mechanic to be changed.
