Why are comms so scarce?
You guys used to pump out posts like "What we're working on". They were awesome. I don't need dates or promises, just keep in touch. Like "we're working on xyz, considering abc, etc. In the meantime, here's some pre-alpha concept art for the Witch".
Anything. Really. I think you have a community team for this, so I'd imagine they could do that. Going for a week without anything except stash tab sale feels bad. It's a live game. It needs to be alive. Keep the information flowing. Make polls. Engage the community. Anything you can except direct dev promises and declarations, if you're not ready for them. It's fine. No news is not good news. Don't be like 95% of other devs out there. I really appreciate your post about slow support reqests and the transparency around it. Now I need something about the game development, please. Shavronne wrapped Kaom's waist, with her gilded purple boots. "You want my sockets?" agreed.
I don't like the approach of "hyping" up news with some interview every month or something. Give us small updates on the development and what u're currently working on at least weekly. At this point I don't think they have a community team anymore, it's more like the support team when they have a few minutes to spare. And we all know what they are doing right now. |

" I genuinely don't. You mean they're working on 3.26 for PoE 1? Shavronne wrapped Kaom's waist,

" Because they have f**k you money from Winnie the Pooh, and don't need to pretend anymore. Developer egos are usually on the level of teenagers around puberty, and since forums are exploding with criticism, they've obviously decided to punish the ungrateful consumers with deafening silence. The funny thing is that nobody at GGG communicates. The community managers only post the same "stay civil" template replies, customer support doesn't answer for weeks or months, and the developers obviously can't be bothered to engage with their community at all. The non-communication coupled with the design choices in POE2 make it pretty obvious that these folks have nothing but contempt left for their customers. |
|
" They're working on support tickets of course. On which they are weeks behind. Last edited by Sadaukar#2191 on Jan 27, 2025, 6:02:41 AM

" Why are the guys who didn't even finish the campaign always the ones with the most to say? They just made their biggest release in over 18 years. They also were on a well-deserved holiday. Now they have a shit ton of support tickets and bug fixing to do while working on a new league for PoE 1 and 2. How much more information do you need? |
|
" I'm sure the developers are the ones answering support tickets. You seem to be an expert on communication in the tech world. Good for you! And very classy gatekeeping to stalk someone's profile, and then use their game progress to determine the value of their opinion. You know, in real life you could ask people to show you their bank balance first, and depending on whether they're rich or poor, you could use that very sound and mature logic to form a better opinion about their worth as a human being! I think you're onto something. But to answer your question on "how much more?", I'd say any communication at all would be a step up from this complete refusal to interact with their community. I've literally never seen an early access like this where the developers are so adamant about completely ignoring their customers. Not even EA, Blizzard or Bungie have managed to act so arrogantly. And that's saying something. |

Why no comms?
Too much Tencent greens to give a F to lowly supporter packs buyers. |
|
" Even Runescape makes a weekly news post consistently and that's a 20 years old game plus Jagex sucks. This is another level of not giving a fuck. |
|
I think that more communication would just result in further exposing that they've lost touch with the community. The last interview was poor. It didn't address anything major, didn't give any real answers, didn't talk about the future much.
I could be wrong. If the game didn't have major issues and instead just needed content then I would understand zero comms followed by content patch dump to a shocked community. But the community right now is obviously unhappy about some core stuff in the game and that isn't being talked about by GGG. |
