Price fixers and flippers (Trading)
Is anything ever going to be done about people listing items with no intention of selling them? when looking to make new builds for a reasonable price most of the items you see first are people giving the impression the values you see are the going price of the items, just so flippers can snipe them to re sell for proffit when you take the bait and list for same price, they have no intention of selling the items listed, this is especially common with uniques. Also feel like half of the playerbase dont actually play the game and just stay in hideout flipping items for proffit, the combination of price fixers and item flippers makes the trading system quite a horrible experience. This is a beta, people are playing the market like its their job.

that and the turds that post something for 1ex then reply with a higher price when you message them.
Or the ones who reply saying theyre just doing it to troll the resellers. The trade site is a mess. I dont think I want a WoW style auction house, but I def want something better than this mess. |

" Exactly, its a shame because the trade site is very powerful and useful to find what you are looking for, but the way things are now i would rather a wow style auction house, at least people wouldnt be able to post things and not have someone buy it. I really hope the devs can find some kind of fix for it, i can live with it for the duration of the beta but on full release i do expect a better system. |

playing the game since 2012 i never had issues buying something and i cannot understand what people don't understand about player to player trade and how it works.
ggg runs a ayn randt style open market where supply and demand define the price of an item. of course the principle has the drawback that if items are in high demand and rare supply, monopolies can buy up the supply and rise prices. (of course should the game care about that and not let people get super rich but whatever...) -- if you can't buy an item for the advertised price just move on and pay more. the offer that you saw was just fake and the real price of that item is higher. -- allowing fake prices in the market is a unique game feature which is unlikely to go soon cause it obfuscates the real price of items in the market. why is that a good thing? well, that has to do with item supply in the game being much higher than demand for those items in the game, if poe allowed for easy pricing and trading, item prices would drop to zero and items wouldn't be worth anything. so fake sellers have the important role to make pricing tools not automatically take the lowest price but instead filter them out and the trade system needs to be as inefficient as it can be so people are discouraged to sell all their junk for one augmentation orb cause that would make them leave the map every 2 minutes. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
