Accuracy idea
The idea of accuracy only working with attack based builds making it a stat not universally used I think should be reviewed. I do not think accuracy should be mandatory to hit a target with attack based skills. Instead, accuracy should work on the minimum value damage scaled, maybe renamed to precision as your attacks hit more precise, therefore deal better damage. For example, a lightning spell hitting for 1-40 damage originally, but with accuracy scaling you can move the minimum damage of 1 up to say something like 15 if you scaled enough accuracy changing the value of the skill to 15-40. In this sense, accuracy works for both magic and attacks where you can scale your minimum damage and accuracy feels like a stat worth investing into if you wanted your damage ranges to not do extreme lows and extreme highs. Thoughts?

Accuracy was fixed in poe2 compared to the way it worked in poe1. unless the tooltip is incorrect. You can get to 100% chance to hit super easy without any real investment.

You can still miss attacks. You're more likely to miss at a distance. Even with what you're saying stating it's easy to achieve 100% hit rate, the stat of accuracy is self literally has a singular function of just hitting a monster which is only applicable to attacks. The stat itself is singular and for dexterity as a stat also to increase accuracy despite being able to achieve 100% hit rate is relatively easy makes the stat pretty boring.

While i do agree that its boring, there is probably tech for accuracy stacking once we get everything in the game. Given there is an attack speed per accuracy notable on the tree.
Chances are its just about solving these things when we get all items/ascendancies. Attack builds have always been shafted (with respect to accuracy) compared to spell builds. its just how it is. I don't think there are any plans in changing it. Its a waste of your energy and breath to fight it. Its done better in poe2 to begin with. |

Better to try and see if the dev's or anyone from GGG take a look. They have already mentioned in their interviews they were unhappy with dexterity and accuracy being their solution to that stat so maybe they will look around for solutions they couldn't come up with in the office. They've already made changes concerning lingering monster effects, volatile crystals, runes being changed etc. despite Johnathan saying runes being permanently slotted wasn't that bad and you'll get used to it, so I disagree that talking about mechanics that can be improved is wasted effort.

" Man i wish they really make this change and let any damage to hit, because when using slow skill(mace) it feels terrible to miss a big hit, even if it happen once every 10 times. |
|
" It's awful to miss any attacks that require forever to even fire off (plasma shot, supercharge slam). If accuracy actually scales your minimum damage, those chunky hits can actually feel good at the same time while making the payoff for slow attacks more meaningful. |

See, this is already something that has been improved on. People will not be happy until they completely remove accuracy from the game, then you will lose accuracy stacking archetype (assuming this will be better supported when we get all ascendancies)
I think the best solution is to remove critical hits from the game, that way resolute technique doesnt have to have a downside. Last edited by Lonnie455Rich#2087 on Jan 24, 2025, 4:04:45 PM

It would be interesting to make spells missable too, so that accuracy can actually affect it.

" How exactly does changing accuracy's function remove accuracy stacking from the game when I'm asking for it's effects to be changed but still is a stat in the game? The change I'm postulating literally makes the stat more functional while still being in the game and actually makes accuracy stacking more powerful so I don't even know how this is removing accuracy stacking. " You're being overly hyperbolic. I also believe crit builds are an issue in this game as well as in poe 1. Every high end build includes crit, where there are no real downsides to not build into crit. I don't have a good idea for crit but accuracy affecting your ability to actually hit a target when spells don't have this issue at all should be discussed. " Probably should be on the table, maybe accuracy as a stat would be discussed more heavily. |
