I just made a map with a 120% chance of Waystone drops and not even 1 has dropped. The remaining Mob is 0. I'm playing Rarity 90%. I've been able to progress my 7+ maps quest by 1 more in 2 days.
Are you trying to force me to buy it?
It's being sold for 1 Regal Orb. This is really wrong.
Rarity 90% but I don't know when I last dropped Exalted.
This RNG sht of yours has really gotten out of hand. There are no maps, no maps. How are we supposed to play the game?
i think you dont know what that 120% means. it doesnt say you will get 1,2 waystones. there is a base chance of a waystone to drop, and this base chance gets a 120% multiplier. if your base chance is 1%, running this modifier ups the chance to 2,2%. thats it. there is still a 97,8% chance of a mob not dropping a waystone. not talking about the possible tier that waystone would likely have.
That is rarity in this game. Quantity increases the amount per drop. So a 100% chance to drop waystone with 300% quantity will drop 3 waystones. IE bosses drop a crap load of waystones due to the +25% chance to drop waystones.

It's not a garanteed drop, it's just a higher chance to drop, calculated from the base drop rate. And yes bosses are a very good source of maps but again it's not garanteed, just a higher chance.

Well yeah. The +25% chance is effectively 1000%s of rarity(no idea what the base chance is.) What does that have to do with my explanation of the difference between rarity and quantity though?

its the same math thats in place for everything in poe. there is a base value and there are some multipliers. we dont know the base values, but they are very very low. and there are increases that seem powerful, but arent.

Yes, but where did GGG say that? Also, from my understanding, rarity and quantity work differently in this game than in POE. Hence why rarity affects currency in POE2.

I'm pretty sure 100% drop chance same tier for bosses and every 100%+ is +1 so 500% t15 boss map the boss drops 5 at least that's how it's been for every map I've ran.. + the additional atlas passives gotten 6 a few times also. For regular mobs I'm pretty sure it's 1% and the map multiplier.

because the poe2 devs obviously dont talk with poe1 devs.
i dont know the exact patch, but back then rarity effect on currency was removed in poe1 because of the same issues. it only affects the rarity of gear, rares, uniques, div cards, but no currency.
somehow rarity was implemented to poe2 the same way it was in poe1 befor the patch.
and for the values, i doubt they ever published any exact numbers, but there were enough tests and numbers over the years figured out by the players.
