My account was banned in POE2. How can I get unbanned?


On 01/14/2025, I was playing on the Moscow server. A player appeared in the chat and started actively spamming about leaving POE and selling their account. The chat began joking about it, pointing out that it’s against the rules and strange to post such messages in a chat meant for communication.

As a result of these jokes, many players, including myself, started joking about selling our accounts for ridiculous amounts—100, 200, or 300 thousand rubles. It was purely a joke. However, one user didn’t appreciate the humor and started reporting people. They even messaged me, saying, "Enjoy your ban, you animal."

A few moments later, I received a message that the chat was blocked for 24 hours. About 10 seconds later, my account was banned. Now, 24 hours have passed, but my account is still banned.

First, I admit that joking about RMT topics was wrong, even as a joke. However, similar jokes happen in the chat literally every 10 minutes, and everyone understands it’s a joke and is fine with it. If my account is unbanned, I promise not to joke about RMT topics again.

Second, the ban policy seems strange. I regularly help the community in the chat, assist new players, and even give away maps for free, yet I get banned after my first joke in the chat. Meanwhile, other users regularly spam the chat or scam players for divines and continue playing without issue.

Third, I contacted support immediately after the ban at support@grindinggear.com. However, after 24 hours, I haven’t received a response, and my account is still banned.

I kindly ask you to unban my account so I can continue enjoying the game. I purchased early access and have already played 115 hours in just three weeks.

I have no choice but to wait. But what’s really frustrating is that I’ve come across many posts from users who were also banned for a specific number of hours, yet the ban wasn’t lifted after that time. There are so many similar messages, and most of them report that communication with support led nowhere—that support doesn’t respond to messages for weeks.

Honestly, I’m starting to lose hope that anyone will reply to me. Around 20 people with similar issues have reached out to me, saying they were banned for even less serious reasons, and all of them report that no one has responded to them for weeks.

And overall, it feels strange that instead of a chat ban, they issue an account ban for something I paid money for. How can I even get my money back?

Can you tell me how long I need to wait for a response?

A week, two weeks, a month, or even longer?

Users are reporting that they haven’t received any responses from support for up to three weeks. Against this backdrop, it seems odd that everyone is being told to contact support when it doesn’t respond to anyone.

it's a my chat. Russian but by the way. It's example show that my message was be only joke. And other players play in the joking too.

And we may see message about mute chat on 24 hours. And why 24 hours have been finished but I banned more 30 hours!

2 to 4 week, assuming you don't try emailing them more to try bump your original email, depends on if they have managed to hire more support staff and how quickly they are working through the backlog.

Also, while you may assume it is a joke it has a knock on effect in two parts, people see that shit and don't get the "joke" and assume that it is OK to sell their accounts resulting in the account getting banned and/or people see it in chat and assume the game is rife with shady shit like that and they quit losing GGG potential customers.

Because you got the only answer that mattered, email them and wait.

Everything else is just a waste of time...time better spent working through the backlog of tickets, not wasting it here hand holding.
