One of the problems with MF and some option to reduce the problem
One of the problems is build imbalance promotion.
Two situations 1. You have a build that requires more different stats/ mods to be good - It's harder to find gear for this build - You don't have space for MF mods. 2. You have a build that requires less different stats/ mods to be good. - It's easier to find gear for this build. - You have mod space for MF mods So you not only find gear even easier, but also win in the trading buisness. - What can be done to change that? 1. MF only on maps and tablets. 2. Orb that gives additional MF to content you choose (you can upgrade a strongbox, a ritual, delirium etc.) 3. Special item slot for a MF item* 4. Mix of any of the first three. *Someone suggested a figurine and I like that idea. Here is my take on that: There would be 6 types of figurines. 1 for each stat, and 1 for each double stat. So their implicit modifier would be to be +X% to find gear related to that stat. As any other item it could be magic or rare with up to 6 mods on it Some of the possible mods: - +X% to general magic find (lower value than specific finds) - +X% to waystone find - +X% to weapon related to a stat - +X% to weapon type - +X% to armor related to a stat - +X% to armor with mods for armor/ evasion/ ES - +X% to item with a certain stat (like resistances) - +X% to jewelery - +X% to jewels - +X% to rarity of currency Last edited by Bakubylozajete#1182 on Jan 13, 2025, 2:55:41 PM Last bumped on Jan 13, 2025, 2:02:54 PM

During the livestream the dev said that Mf works in the same way as POE1. With that being the case MF has significant diminishing returns, at least according to the table that I've seen. Meaning, it's not really going to affect your droprate much to have 50% mf vs 100%.
For the record I am Currently running MF regalia on myTitan with MF sockets so i'm sitting somewhere around 200% total on my lvl 92 character. That's probably overkill. But now based on the information I've seen I might actually drop my MF down to somewhere between 50-100% and spend those affixes on more survivability or map clearing stats. I like the Magic Find affix. I'd actually argue the opposite of you and say I wish it had less diminishing returns. Last edited by MOZZIE#1849 on Jan 13, 2025, 2:06:10 PM
