1 shot is just lazy game design

I am 4k hp
80% armour
75% ress in all 4 res

I run 2h mace and shield with raise shield ability
I found an iron citadel and put a T15 map in it
Came to the Count boss

Got him to the phase where he changes to the wolf
I know damage could be incomming so I raise my shield up
A big red circle spawns on me bigger than I have any chance of moving out of and within ½ a second the wolf lands on me

Instant one shot with all the above defences and raised shield up

It just feels bad
SKILL ISSUE
GIT GUT
And all the other 12 year old teenage boys comments aside
It just feels bad and I feel like my time is wasted

I LOVE this game, but if this is the intended design I am afraid that this will be the deciding factor of my longivity in this game

Oh wait I could just play meta only or broken ES spec right?

Or we could stop doing lazy 1 shot mechanics design, so all classes, also non ES classes/specs could enjoy the endgame how about that?

The endgame boss that you fight after getting fragments from all 3 citadels has literal bs MMO raidboss mechanics that just oneshot you if you haven't watched a detailed guide(or you just got unlucky and the boss stacked 2 mechanics at the same time).

These oneshots are 100% intended and part of the "vision" for this game, because the devs have shoehorned the exact same kind of design into PoE 1 when the players hated it. They want people to get oneshot and they want those annoying on-death effects in maps. Sadly its all intentional. Because they think that the only way to kill the player is a oneshot in 0.1 seconds. Just lazy design and fake difficulty.

Even 18k es meta builds can get oneshot in a random map, no build is safe because of how bad defensive stats are in this game and how overtuned enemy damage is, so the meta is just glass cannon builds that explode the screen before anything can touch you, and oneshot bosses before they can do a single mechanic.

It's probably never changing completely, the most they will do is nerf some of it by just a bit but given how all this design philosophy was forced into PoE 1 its most likely staying in this game. Which sucks.
Yeah with 5 yrs in development, they're incompetent af.

All the brags about mimicking souls-like are bs. Difficulty=0%, BS=100%.

Souls games have a soul, this game doesn't.
to elaborate the on death effect I take 0 damage from as long as I remember to raise my shield

if I forget its and instant 1 shot through 75% ress in all 4 ress

But this I can live with, I can remember to raise my shield

The bosses 1 shot mechanics in a 360 wide aoe cicle that spawns on top of me instant, is really hard to live with in the long run

I just hope its an EA issue and when the game releases it will be better, else it will be the end for me at that point

and it would be a shame, cause this is one of the best games I have played for a decade.
It's a noob filter. Hope they add more like these. In PoE2 at least the bosses are way more telegraphed and even have a sound indicator, but in PoE1 the majority did not have anything to this extent, and it was among the best ARPG there is.

I dont wanna watch a guide. i dont wanna copy other players experience.
I want MY experience and he is 100 % right. Thos mechancis are bad. JUST BAD
And nothing else.
How i can study or learn mechanics if the map is depleted after 1 try. Than i have to find other citadels in 3 weeks and than i ve forgotten everything.

This is a very poor, bad and playerhating mechanic.
As I said in another post. They just made copy + paste for the very bad endgame.
They havent worked on it at all.

They were pushed to bring the game out and they made tons of very bad decissions. Its all about earning money and we have to pay it with time.

That is an impertinence.

PoE 1 bosses do have voicelines for attacks?

And yeah, lets just add 50 billion """noob filters""" so we end up with a dead game that has about the same player numbers as Ruthless. Seems like a great idea to quickly sink this game lol

What is with this elitism around this game? It's not a soulslike, it never will be. It's not """difficult""", its just tedious and extremely punishing. There's 0 skill involved in this game, only time commitment and copying guides while getting lucky. Those are all the things you need to "git gud" at PoE 2.
I feel your pain. But at the end of the day - it’s an rng heavy game. Sometimes you get one shot by the boss, sometimes you unknowingly scoop up a vest and sell it for 10 div.

Cool, red boss moves can't be blocked with the shield. It's like the first tutorial the game gives you about the shield.

Next?
In before 'git gud', move that move 2 cm to the left to avoid the big red circle that's under all those explosion effects that you can't see.
