Need help with Count Geonar

Ive been trying to beat him solo as mercenary and have died twice to him when hes at 15% hp, which is demoralising me badly. I am not taking too much damage from his attacks and can dodge them reliably, but my damage is very bad, and getting him to low hp takes 5 to 8 minutes. Idk if thats intended or if thats intended or if my build or equipment is poor

First and foremost, you need to figure out what's killing you.
Are you running out of flask charges? -try increasing your overall HP, grind some gear that has +HP from the previous 1 or 2 zones. -try increasing dps. Its a bit counter-intuitive, but more dps, means less time fighting which means less timr needing to be healed. Again, farm previous zones. -try increasing your flask sizes, either the next tier of flask, or with affixes that increase amount healed, less charges used or overall charges. Are you misunderstanding a mechanic? -check youtubes amd streamers for boss guides. Bosses, in general, get harder the lower HP they are. Often, they add new mechanics or vary mechanics from earlier in the fight. -if getting overwhelemed due to "mechanic-spam," just take a breath, watch the abilities, look for the safe place to stand. There is only one dps-check boss on the campaign, so take your time to focus on survivability. Are you under-leveled? Or undergeared? -press your map button (default is tab) and check the level of the area in the top right. Your character should be about the same level, or higher. If you're under-leveled, go grind a few previous zones as the extra levels will help. If you're over-leveled, it' likely that your gear isn't strong enough anymore and needs upgrading. For all gearing and levelling needs, the vendors in town get new stock with every level up. The gamble vendor gets new chances based on the amount of rare monsters you kill. Other than that, you can grind your own gear out in previous levels, or check oit the trade site to see if you can get something cheap. |

Many of his skills deal cold damage. Hence for this encounter, you just have to pool all your resistances to cold. He has some cold resistance. Expect a longer battle if you deal mostly cold damage. I've done this boss with default attack. Just stack cold resists and use your default attack if you want to have easier mana flask management. Then, the only flask you have to manage is life flask. |

i was able to beat him after getting a higher item level crossbow, thank you for your help!
