NEW POE2 equipment type (Figurine) that allows customization of your loot experience
this is like some diablo 3 type stuff. No thanks.
They need to simply fix crafting by giving more targeting options. Last edited by xpose#1651 on Jan 11, 2025, 11:02:41 AM

this is a very pessimistic perspective and that is not how it would work. other gear would not go away. it would not impact other gear's drop rates at all. it just would add the potential for gear to drop that you might want to use.
and a 30% increase on finding quarterstaffs for instance.... would mean that the original base chance of perhaps 4% would turn into 5.3%. So the figurines as they are now might need to be buffed. This is just an example. You're not going transform all your loot into class specific gear. All of this can be reasonably balanced and not capable of being broken like some Atlas tree magic finding stacking scenario. " |

I wasn't actively thinking of adding either D2-style-charms, PoE1-style trinkets, or similar into the game but this doesn't sound like a bad idea.
You could sacrifice some of your inventory space to focus other aspects of play and this would be another vector in the Passive / Skill Gem / Gear / Ascension part of planning that would be useful. Early on in progression getting Waystone drop chance would be huge to the point that running a "good" map on a node without a boss may not feel like a complete and total waste of resources --- but this would be a choice the player would need to sacrifice for. In the end I imagine I'd default to running ONLY rarity & quant items of one variety or another but earlier in progression there would be a nice balance of things you could shoot for. |

Wouldn't this be perfect for people playing together? Imagine 2 new players. One is a monk. one is a sorceress. And as they progress through the game they are both slightly more likely to get monk and sorceress gear that they end up sharing together?
What is the problem here? it only enhances the experience. meanwhile much of the community complains about how 99% of the gear they find is ''useless''. I am here offering a small solution/adjustment that would only end up helping the gameplay. " Last edited by IcyMistV#5121 on Jan 11, 2025, 11:14:52 AM

" That's how you THINK it will be used. That's not how it WILL be used. The way it will be used is by running figurines for the high value items. For example right now good ES gear sells for way more than armor. So I would NEVER spec into finding armor - I would only want ES gear to sell. Same for weapons, even if I was still running Mercenary, I'd not want to find crossbows but wands because they sell faster and for more. This means the figurines granting any meaningful % increase to drop rates of in demand gear would be highly prized. People aren't going to play the game the way you want them to. They're going to play it "efficiently". |

small buffs to specific loot drops will not incentivize min maxing loot hoarders. because the base chance of finding a specific item is largely low. so a buff from 4% to 5.2% like i said.... won't break the game for anyone. This includes people who want to try to abuse these mechanics. So it will not create any meaningful incentive for people to try to abuse the system. this isn't some atlas MF scenario where you can get 1000% the drops as regular players.

" Taking every buff is literally what min maxing is. It absolutely will create a meta for figurines. It will take about 3 seconds for 300 youtubers to make a "DO THIS NOW!" or "235 things newbies to POE2 should know!", "TIPS AND TRICKS TO GET RICH IN POE" videos all covering exactly what the highest value loot and what figurines boost it. Also - lets be very clear, a buff of drop chance from 4% to 5.2% is an absolutely massive 30%. |
