Do level 20 skill gems drop?
" t16 map + towers +1 lvl monsters. ✨ Beta tester Path of Nerf 👀

" t16 is 80. + irradiated is 81. irradiated+coalesced corruption = 82. The only thing i can think of is bosses specifically get +level on their tree. So a +4 boss on a t15 zone(area level 79) might be considered level 83? Last edited by iadapt#7831 on Jan 3, 2025, 2:57:11 PM

" as i wrote you can get +5 levels on the events, e.g. logbooks. i need to test it once i have more points. |

" " Map bosses are separate from logbooks or events so i dont see the relation to my comment. What im saying is a t14 map boss (area level 78) "might" have a chance to drop a level 20 gem. if you have +4 in the map boss tree. And this might apply as low as a t12 map if irradiated + coalesced Even though every other monster in the zone is "low level", the + to boss level might allow JUST the boss to have a chance to drop a level 20 gem. Unconfirmed, just submitting the thought. |

" okay then i was mistaken. i am +3 logbook levels and my area level is 82 everytime, so i naturally thought its 79 +1 for each logbook level. |

" I don't understand how they say they want to make PoE 2 more accessable to more players, then they go ahead and make systems that are objectively worse than PoE 1. The gem socketing into gear in PoE 1 was one of its worst features, which kept me from playing for many years, as it was incredibly hard to upgrade your gear without ruining your gem setup. However, even in that flawed system, you could take a level 1 gem and level it to max, because it gets experience points just by playing the game. I think they should bring back the skill experience system from PoE 1, this would immediately improve the skill progression. |

I clocked now over 300 hours in that game
And - I never saw a citadel - never got a level 20 gem - dont have a fully simulacrum - dont have a full breach stone To be "fair", I was doing alot of trial speed runs with my minion build Anyway, this game is so casual unfriendly, it's mindboggling. Not everybody has as much time as I do with my comfy chair homeoffice job where nearly everything is automated and you have only to check and start some things from time to time (homer-bird-y-key.gif) The game is in parts designed as if you need to find a ber and jar rune for every single endgame mechanic you want to experience. The difference is that you only get one shot at it and if you die, you'll start over. To keep that D2 reference: the enigma you can build with that runes stay with you for the ages I think the link/socket system was not so great in POE1 and the system in POE 2 could be an improvement. BUT: they should have kept that xp system for gems I really dont like this uncut gem mechanic at all. Last edited by RoninSJ#4948 on Jan 9, 2025, 2:24:48 AM

I drop those from monster level 82.
On map its corruption + irradiated icon + 16 lvl map (usually boosted with breach). |

" At least in PoE1, magic enemies had +1 drop lvl and rare +2 drop lvl. |

" I played yesterday in a couple T16's with a friend first time since Launch(just 1). It rained t19's. I would find some friends and go hunting. One sad Exile
