Every design decision they made is absurdly poorly thought out. We meme about 'the vision' but god damn, it feels like there is NO vision guiding the design decisions of this game.


The only "vision" guiding this game's design seems to be "oh D2 had X,Y and Z so we should put it in the game too". Turns out just doing that while un-learning all the lessons the devs should have learned during PoE 1's development was a horrible idea.


D2 also do it better and more balance too :3
Even famous Maggot lair are still favor player with enemy can't swarm player and boss can even be cheese. Unless you're summoner... poor guy, absolute hell.

The Campaign was the best part, even with all the issues (large maps, lots of dead ends, waypoints far way from map entrance etc) having the checkpoints to pinpoint from a location to another was a pretty neat tool.


Now, endgame maps are just tedious. Is a PITA when we are sometime time on a map and 10 different Elites indicators pops out on the minimaps and none are close of each other.

The lack of Bosses is a very dauting poorly designed implementation.

The Vision is already ruining the game experience.

They should have just stay focus on the acts. They pulled them off acts to do the end game. What end game is that? What we currently have is utter garbage. Both passive trees are garbage also. We can't favorite maps. We can't choose what we want to run/farm. The map are massive and his screen shot is exactly what happens to every single player. With no movement speed in sight.

Everything they did correct in poe1 they removed in poe2. They wanted this game to be what kept the poe1 players playing. So half way through the league they would release a new one on poe 1 or 2 to keep players. This game currently has nothing to keep the players wanting more. It is EA but they have had 10 years of testing and making changes to give us this garbage.
I remember the first time I played the game and I was in the devourer map I thought "lol they brought back maggot layer"

It's to my great detriment that I slowly realized this started becoming the norm of the game through the multiple maps I pushed through.


Big disappointment.

This arbitrary difficulty is fucking dumb and its' bad game design.
For some reason they thought that turning every map into Cells and Maggot Lair was the play.

Already quit due to this terrible mapping system (among many other reasons)
PoE 1 is the best. PoE 2 is something.
