They did not give an ETA and I guess they have more important things to work on. The game is still in Early Access and there is already a system in place that works absolutely fine. It has its disadvantages, but it also has advantages over any other solution.

Stated in this interview a while back players won't accept at least having a buyout option and they are looking into how to fix trading. Some kind of change is coming. No idea when however.

they acknowledged the fact that players will not settle for anything less than instant buy so that is what they have to do, they also have an idea on a way to make it, they have also thought about using it as a silver sink

Which part exactly is working fine?
Maybe the search on the website - anything else?

What are the advantages of the current trading system?
The fact that you have to wait for god knows how long to make an actual trade?
Or is it the prone-to-scam approach of the trading system?
The only thing the current system is doing is wasting time of the players.


I don't understand why they are even forcing any interaction with other players to complete the trade. Why not simply have an 'instant buy' button on the trading page to automate the process? (only scammers would be hurt by that)
GGG has all the info they need to implement that 'instant buy' approach and it wouldn't even be that complicated:
-> check available currency
-> reserve item
-> reserve currency
-> move item to buyer's remove-only stash tab dedicated for bought items
-> move currency to seller's remove-only stash tab

It's not rocket science.
