I feel dumb for trying to have "fun"
I started on PoE2 playing summons from day1. I didnt knew how they would be but i wanted to play some casting totems but they were not around.
It was nice, forgeting about having to run and dodge for 10seconds every time i run to fast, turn a corner to sharp or go though a doorway to avoid being killed cause i lost all my damage, was nice. I got some exalts in the same map, shared it with a friend and he, no so subtely, called me dumb for not be playing a monk and poping breaches to get 10 times that loot in a single breach, meanwhile i was walking my maps. Then i went for some selfcast, to not rely on the minion AI all the time... and another friend, who works almost all week and can mainly play only sundays, called me again cause he was clearing maps walking, outscreening most monsters using Spark on breaches. To be fair, i dont know if the issue is Spark, stacking Heralds or Archmage, i feel you really missed your OWN idea when selected the leagues from PoE1 to be present at launch. I heard Chris talking almost in all interviews about having meaningful encounters with rares, adressing the situation and having to engage only to to come here and find that from the 4 main modifiers (Expedition, Ritual, Delirium and Breches), two are full rush where you cant even stop to loot (Breaches and Delirium), Ritual is barely different but you also cant adress anything cause you are usually in a thight corridor where you can barely stand, and a lot less dodge anything, poping monsters before they pop you, and you can make a case for expedition cause you can manage the modifiers of what you will fight. So, we end up with PoE2 being the same PoE1 was but with better graphics: you build has to be able to pop 4 screens ahead cause farming bosses is too expensive and killing monsters by pack, even if you oneshot them, is too slow to be able to farm faster than inflation. I will end mentioning that i dont like the idea of having to nerf most meta builds. A lot of people worked and farmed a lot to get their items and, even being in an early access, i would expect them to be mad if they get nerfed enough to not be able to make all the other builds feel like a waste of time. But: - I feel Heralds should have an AoE cap and not be able to do converted or damage as extra of another type (so they cannot chain) To be fair, most things other than damage should have a cap cause we are seeing that people can get dumb with too much atk speed, AoE, casting, cooldown reduction, whatever. - Most projectile skills should have a damage penalty for distance to avoid people spaming one button and clearing the screen of their neightbors. - Bosses show have the same mechanic they had in PoE1 when they started with a lot of damage reduction so they can do a mechanic. - Im sorry that the dev that balanced some skills putting some cooldowns and the dev that designed Temporalis as a chase unique doesnt talk with each other, but you will have to solve it. Im sorry if someone feels attacked, is not my intention, but i feel this was intended to be a diferent game and didnt took a month to be show as the same... and that makes me a little sad.
