Vaal Factory worst map. Thoughts?

I think Vaal Factory is actually the worst map ever designed by GGG. Map is insanely huge for no reason, and on top of that its a damn labyrinth also for no reason.

Whit my warrior feel horribly slow even wearing 30% speed boots lmao, it is actually a horrible experience. Also have a monk which is for sure faster but that doesnt make that map feel better lmao

Please reduce it in like 50% or just delete it out of end game

On the other Hand we have Crypt that is basically a narrow corrido but its like 70% smaller which actually makes it feel better. Like when i get Crypt am like "hell yea EZ short map"

I dunno, tower and augury both give it a pretty firm run for the title.

EDIT: Hot take, but I don't mind having one or two bad maps around, because they make the good ones shine so much brighter when you get to them. So long as there are more good than bad. Doom Eternal for example, second through fourth level are absolute **barf** tier content, then you get to super gore nest and arc complex and its just absolutely on.

Some of the ones that have like... extremely limited movement.... while they look cool really need to be changed for game play.

The one with the planks.... whatever map that is called, you know where you first encounter ritual in the campaign.

The bridges are a single person in width. I dont know if things should be THAT restricted in directionality.

^and ofc that same map is the one with the dudes who blast of those huge aoe chaos exploding flowers, from nearly off-screen. So if you are on one of those tiny narrow bridges, with enemies blocking your path, and suddenly theres flowers everywhere.....you're gonna have a bad time.

At the very least, poor choice of enemy for that choice of map design. In a level 11 area lol.

I still havent figured out who it is that does that flower nonsense, in either poe1 or poe2 for that matter. Nor have I figured out how it works, sometimes I stand on it and it tickles my feeties, sometimes I think I'm away from it and it reaches around and pulls my nuts up over my head.

its the guys that always stand at the back of the pack, with a big staff. The flowers are simply on a timer: they detonate after a few seconds. Easiest place to see them is actually in that map in Act 1 where they first appear because the packsizes are small. Problem is....you can't easily get to them to kill them because you are swarmed by the melee guys first. And of course...the narrow bridges and obstacles and hut levels all impeding your attacks and movement.

Regarding that vivid imagery you pointed out....my guess is a crit and/or shotgunning?

I too was thinking that Vaal Factory was the worst map in ARPG history but then I found Doryanis citadel.... xD
Half of the maps in PoE 2 are the worst maps ever made, layout-wise :D

Beautiful to look at, but horrible to navigate and play. On top of that, most of them are too big.

In PoE 1, if you don't like some map, you only have to do it once. But in PoE 2 with the fixed atlas nodes, you are constantly 'paying for passage' through empty nodes that don't have anything interesting in them. GGG should at least triple the amount of bosses on the atlas...

Vaal factory is still kind of bearable, but Augury and Mire on the other hand along with the endless deadend map named Slick is just unfun to run to.

Leave Augury alone! that's one of my favorite common maps.. just a circle within a circle designed by a kindergartener.
