All Xbox/PS 5 and new players only. How do you feel about MF?

MF has been a mechanic in ARPGs since D2. I think the balance to this is to remove currency from the +rarity table like runes were left off the MF table in D2.
So I'm not sure if you guys have looked into Rarity at all. From what little testing I have seen people stacking it to absurd numbers has no point. It seems to have diminishing returns that all but fall off a cliff once you get past 100%.

Above is the video I just recently saw showing that stacking above 100% didn't seem to yield any increased results that were outside of what could be a margin of error.
Mixed bag. I wish it was a modifier that you got if you were solo self find instead of being on gear.
You only need around 120% for it to feel good not really a big deal as made out to be. The dupes and other things being abused are what ruined your market not mf.
Good better gear ~> better loot
MF is immersive from an RP perspective and fun within a team building perspective. It encourages playing classes that can handle the stat. I don’t see anything wrong with building a MF character to farm loot for your other characters. I find it challenging to build a character that can balance MF with damage and defense, and that challenge is engaging to me. I don’t think it should be changed at all.

Increasing drop rates and taking the control away from the player is a yawn fest to me. From a role playing perspective my character has a a better ability to find hidden treasures. Maybe a non mf character just opens the chest, meanwhile my mf character traced glyphs within the chest to reveal hidden compartments.

Feels like the loudest voices are the ones with the most progress with 1000s in currency. Now you want to cut off the opportunity to casuals and first time players still studying the mechanics.
I would love to get a breakdown of the types of people who are for and against this. I kinda don't get the logic of the against arguments. I personally like the 'third axis' as Johnathan calls it and pray that it endures the current backlash.
I am going a bit off topic as I will not focus only on MF, but in trading in general... This is a personal opinion, as such, it does represent only my view of things...

I'll start with why I prefer nowadays consoles to play... The same hardware for everyone which should translate in games being far more optimized and ends up not being the truth for most cases... Much more harder to cheat like in traditional PC means, such as bots, wallhacks, memory editors, etc... I do have tens of thousands of hours playing on PC, World of Warcraft for example...

The current trading systems doesnt offend me neither I think of it as something igregious or an abomination... What does offend me is the following:

- Economy should be separated from PC and Sony (I dont now where to put XBox, but that isnt my concern). The main benefit from this would be safeguarding the platform users from bad actors corrupting the game economy through the usage of trade bots, farming bots which seem to be quite popular in PC... For a reference I will mention World of Warcraft and the "Taiwanese Bot Mafia" for you to investigate, and the reason why I point this is as a follows, many videos covering World of Warcraft and said mafia which mention by name several games they operate in, including PoE...

- The n00b scams: a lot of bad actors posting for sale items for low prices without any intent to sell, just to mislead new players into the wrong prices so they sell X item for a low price after checking trade for same item. This leads into the trade bot issue, no console user can compete with a trade bot that once the item appears on the live feed imediatly sends a bid and a party request... On console people need to do it manually, which ends up in being a huge disadvantage...

- Activity scam: this is an issue I would consider more of a game design issue than for creating an attack vector for bad actors trying to take advantage of player despair and anguish... For example selling runs to trials... this should be a solo activity, probably with a reward mechanism to please both more demanding players and more casual players and avoid the wave of scams going on... the way trading works facilitates this with the current game design... It also hits console users as consoles arent usually multitasking in the traditional way and submitting a report with a video is pretty much impossible without closing the game, thus ending the opportunity of filling a report...

In sum, though much more could be said, the current trading system and how it's implemented mixing PC players and console players is something I find obnoxious, as it exposes console users to all the nefast crap from the PC world that many of us are trying to avoid either through automated systems such as trade bots or by destroying the in-game economy for example, items farmed by bots, a lot of malicious trading practices and overall, not being competitive for that ONE item you really want to bid on, etc...

I think MF is the least of concerns for the time being... currently there are far worse issues going on... I trully hope someone considers splitting away the economy/trading from PC and console, this would the most benefitial thing to happen to console players... followed by loot filters... But I guess most of us are already used being treated like 2nd grade peasants anyway... i do not expect any of this issues to be solved... which makes me go back to single player games :)
