[Tutorial] How to POE Trade (POE1 and POE2) with GForce now and other streaming platforms

Hello,

so about a year ago my old graphics card committed sudoku and was only working if load was very low, so no active games but the miracle of streaming services like GForce now allowed me to play games even when my GPU was half dead but that meant that I could no use Trade Macros or any Overlay/Game tool so we had to cheat (no worries, legal cheats).

Just a warning: This technique will open your local PC up to the Internet! Please change the ports for this trick to a random number. Best is between 8000 and 9800

This will ONLY work with these two softwares
Path of Exile 1: Awakened POE Trade

Path of Exile 2: Exiled Exchange 2

Best way to use this is running the games via steam! We need the Steam Overlay!

There is 2 solutions

The first one only works if you have only ONE PC in your network or your PC is set as EXPOSED HOST. As this is different to every single router I can't give specific ways to set this. So if you don't know how to enable this, please google yourself "DMZ [ROUTERNAME + Version]" or "Exposed Host [ROUTERNAME + Version]" so e.g. "DMZ Fritzbox 9591" or "Exposed Host Fritzbox 9591" if you got a Fritzbox 9591.

(For pros: Forward the needed port instead of setting yourself as dmz)

After setting your PC as DMZ (or if you are directly connected without a router skip that of course) you need to create a new shortcut to "Exiled Exchange 2" or to Awa Poe Trade for POE1.

The normal Shortcut should look like this:

So the text in that box should be something like
"
"C:\Users\WINDOWSACCOUNTNAME\AppData\Local\Programs\Exiled Exchange 2\Exiled Exchange 2.exe"

Even if the path is different, that does not matter. All you do is, that you add this AFTER all text in that box:
"
--listen=0.0.0.0:8887

(The space infront is IMPORTANT. So in my example you would change it to
"
"C:\Users\WINDOWSACCOUNTNAME\AppData\Local\Programs\Exiled Exchange 2\Exiled Exchange 2.exe" --listen=0.0.0.0:8887

Note: 8887 is the port. Please change (and remember!) the number to anything random. Best is anything above 8000 and below 10000.

If you play Path of Exile 1, you do the EXACT SAME to the shortcut of your poe trade macro.

If you did this and now start your overlay tool it will not only start the normal trademacro that still works as usual but also starts a small webserver that you can now open with http://localhost:8887 (exchange the port to whatever you chose)

This will open a window that looks like this:

Here you can click into the "Price Check"-Field and CTRL+V your item data. This is important on how we have to use the tool if we want play via GForce now.

If the URL does not work, you failed in any step before. Re read the guide and follow the steps again and check if you maybe failed the short cut or mistyped your own port. Also this does NOT work with HTTPS. ONLY http!

Now we need your IP. There are 2 ways.
If you don't know how to access your IP just use a website like e.g. https://whatismyipaddress.com and write your IP4v down, you will need it right now!

Switch to your GForce NOW window and while in Path of Exile 1 or 2 you press SHIFT+Tab and open the Browser-Feature of the Steamoverlay and enter your IP + port the same way we did before with localhost. So if your IP was 0.0.0.0 and you chose the port 8886 you'd now enter http://0.0.0.0:8886 as URL and hit enter.
If you are either DMZ, have ports forwarded or are directly connected (only PC on the network) you should now load your local hosted Trade Macro.

Now SHIFT+Tab again and you are back in the game. You can now SHIFT+Tab at any time to access the trade macro.

To pricecheck an item you have CTRL+ALT+C on an item to copy the ADVANCED infos of the item. Then open your trade macro and click into the Price Check Field and CTRL+V

The macro should now show you the window you know, love and missed.

This marks the end for the standard way that should work for 98% of all users that are not behind a proxy or other security schemes. If you are unable to connect this way read on.

Hard way:

If the previous way didn't work, don't worry I got you covered!
There is another thing you can try setting up a local proxy. If you don't know how, I have created a small simple proxy. It's not masterpiece and it can crash but a restart only takes you a doubleclick
Proxy Download: HERE
This ZIP File Contains 3 files. A node.exe, a small javascript and a batfile that starts the javascript file with the node.exe
If you do not trust this get yourself node from https://nodejs.org/en and ask a programmer pal to write you a proxy or give them the js file and ask them if it's clean. It is.

All you have to do is to extract the 3 files anywhere and just doubleclick the node.bat file.
If you have no file extensions enabled look at the image and check which file looks like the third one:

When you started the proxy you should see this window:

Depending on your situation there can be an IPv4, IPv6 or none visible. This is just a window that is open that has the proxy running. If you see no error message try to open the URL on the Steam Overlay in GForce NOW again.

If you now see the browserwindow: CONGRATULATIONS

If not you either made a mistake or you are behind something I can't help you.

EXTRA Bonus:
If you don't want to re-check your IP Adress over and over again when you start playing you can use a DynDNS tool like https://www.noip.com. With this running on your computer you can set yourself an domain name like "http://something.no-ip.com" and just call that from the steam overlay instead of your everchanging IP

Before asking for help, please recheck the guide.

TLDR for IT Guys:
Start awa trade or exile exchange 2 with --listen=0.0.0.0:8886 or any other port and call your ip+port via steambrowser on GForce NOW and if that not works, use the proxy.

Hope this helps some people. I know it's complicated but that is the only way (known to me) to handle this until GForce now allows Clipboard exchange again.

If I made anyone rich with this, I don't mind a small donation for my spark build :D

For the shortcut you can use 0.0.0.0 this makes it irrelevant to what IP you have. YOUR IP is only important when you open the browser in steam on GForce Now.
