Compromised PoE Accounts: Stolen Items and Hacked Accounts - Discussion and Leads
" I'm here. It turns out it was indeed GGG. So, nothing of the: - Trade website - Hideout - Vulnerabilities - Thousands of hacked people - Investigations - Server leaks It was just an old admin account that was still linked to steam, and got broken into through steam. Not through PoE. Are we just gonna shrug the above misses you all posted here and blamed GGG directly for this? Yes it's ultimately their fault, but your theories and victimhood had no end with 0 evidence. And there seems to be miss-understanding, perhaps duo to your emotional responses here since you are affected by this. 1. I never denied you were hacked. 2. I never said it's your fault. 3. I never said it's not GGG fault. I just stated the most obvious ways to hack someones account, and an old admin account is the least anyone would've expected to cause this. But in your emotional state, you took that as an attack to you. I did say the above, but its a general statement which is true for most people. It's usually easier to blame anyone than your own faults. All that being said, I did say that I will apologize if it turns out it's GGG's problem. I'm sorry. I hope you get your stuff back. |

End of the day no one really “wins”. There was a lot of speculation but people still lost things they worked hard for. Hopefully GGG learns from this and we can all move on

Fortunately, they have finally identified the breach. Has there been any mention of compensating the victims?

Did GGG say anything about what infos the hacker had access to?
Because I assume whilst GGG only confirmed 66 deleted "changed passwords" notes, the hacker probably still had access to personal information of every single account - IP, email, last shipping address, maybe even payment info. |

I hope they will send an e-mail with apology to everyone, who had their accounts panel accessed by hackers and offer them to change all sensitive data. As that data can be later used for e-mail change through tech support.

Still doesnt explain why my lvl96 stormweaver was deleted.. was it out of spite? did GGG remove my account to investigate? i have gotten zero response from GGG. MY gear is gone. MY char was deleted.
I hope they reroll my char back to how it was at the start of lv96 or 1-2 days before it was deleted. i dont want to lose all my time spent because of GGG mistake. |

am... ok someone got access to old steam account of someone from GGG...
but OP got HIS steam account hijacked, it can't be done throught any GGG admin account, even all of them together, plus GGGs Steam account wouldn't grant access to CHANGE users passwords, that's not how DBs works LOL The only real explanation - OP installed malware on his PC, or logged into steam through third party phishing site.
