Compromised PoE Accounts: Stolen Items and Hacked Accounts - Discussion and Leads

The worst part isnt being hacked- even if it isnt because of 3rd party but some client /GGG side issue, as unlikely as that is.

The worst part is that GGG response, is to block YOU from accessing YOUR account and playing, if You report being hacked.

It literally incentivizes NOT reporting a hack.

You loose Your stuff either way - but if You dont report, You can keep playing...

Obviously the hackers identity has to be protected. Otherwise they can't do their business of robbing you. If you try to stop them, then GGG will stop you.

Sold a headhunter 3 days b4 christmas, 2 days b4 christmas i was hacked.
I legit closed to game to do a few rounds of marvel rivals ( a friend saw me log in while playing) and when i logged in my divs were cleaned out.
No steam was accessed, no mail was accessed. Instantly put a support request up and no response (still).

They will not return any items, they will probably not do anything, just say "update your password". or if ur unlucky, lock your account.

For programs, I tried overwolf a week or 2 ago and uninstalled it once I found sidekick. Removed that once the re-published awakened came out (forget name, exile exchange I think? I'm not on same PC atm).

Game and Steam both have MFA, have both Standalone client + steam, and only 3 of my cheapest items were taken (leaving gear worth more than a casual players account in-tact) so I'm actually fine to keep playing but yikes?

Probably true but that'd be absolutely insane.

Their game is literally being breached, this isn't us not using 2fa, this isn't someone not reading a trade properly and being scammed, this is a HUGE issue.

If I get banned for trying to help the community then screw it peace-out I tried.

Oh damn, my prediction came true.

I was also a victim. Sold a mirror the night before Christmas eve and ran a character through the whole campaign to only wake up the next day and it's all gone.... how is this even happening? If they just didn't allow somebody to login to my account with the poe client it would never happen. Steam uses 2fa that makes it to where the person would need my phone in order to access my account. I've been playing PoE since the original release of PoE1 back around Alpha stage and this has never happened to me.

Same here, account got locked after sent mail to official support email 8 days ago ,so far still no reply.Seems it is not preventing my account from the hackers,it is just preventing me from playing POE2.
