Bug - Legacy of the Vaal - Return to infested barrens and active the stone alter

Xbox - Act 6: dropped the large soul core out of my inventory at ziggurat encampment (no warning or promt like "you cannot drop this item here. Destroy it instead" only to have it dissappear permanently without the chance to get a new one from jiquanis sanctum. Stone alter still does the animation but doesn't progress the story nore drop the water to enter next area. Character has been bricked for 3 days now. I feel like this should be fixed asap as I personally am not going to invest time into another character when this one is so close to mapping. Just not playing the game.
