Eternal knight
This monster is just giga overtuned.
No damage mods on the map regular white eternal knight shooting out projectiles like 5/sec each dealing over 1000 damage after mitigation. This is not normal this is absurd. Every every single time that they spawn in the map you have to legitimately consider to abandon the map because this monstertype has spawned. For those of you who dont know which one this is its the very slow moving melee skeleton who is having his shield raised at all times that for some reason has a ranged ability that is casted 5times per sec and does crazy damage. As I’ve said before for someone else,
They only do the projectile attack if you are attacking them from range while their shield’s up. Get up close to bait their attack and drop their guard, back up to whiff their attack, then punish. |

you know how spark works?

I'm done with this game until this SHIT mob gets nerfed.....

" He doesn't shoot projectiles, he reflects projectiles. Yes, the end result is pretty much the same, but there is a difference. If you do not attack from range, he does no damage; but if you're shooting 10 shots a second, then he's going to reflect a stream of shots back at you. If you know this mob might be on the map, then you need to take it a little slower. You want to get into melee range and they'll lower their shield to attack. When they do, you can just move behind them and attack for a second or two, then wait for him to attack again (he will raise his shield between attacks). If you want to get some practice, go into the Tomb of the Consort in Acts 1 and 4, as they typically spawn in there; there is even a special Rare encounter in there. They can also spawn in Mausoleum of the Praetor, but not as reliably. |

I wonder why discussion keeps happening on this, really.
I'll just assume it's people who have ONLY played spark since day 1 since I don't think this mob is a problem for any other build (maybe some niche fireball spammer?) Originally I had absolutely no clue why people were talking about this mob. I'd never even noticed them. Then I leveled Spark as my second build and oh boy, they sure shred you the first time you find them... The massive disparity in how people view this mob is simply because when you play Spark you cannot control the reflect. A good Spark build has so much proj speed and duration that knights from a screen and a half away will be spamming projectiles before you even register they are there. If your build is not strong enough defensively, you WILL get stunlocked and die. With that said... It is exceedingly easy to solve the problem when you're still at low investment. I guess people just don't want to click defensive nodes, but if you invest a little bit into stun threshold, the initial volley will not shred you (the one you were not expecting). And then it's simply a matter of either moving into position or, even easier, using a 4linked Arc to delete them. At high investment, they fall over instantly like everything else, before they get the chance to reflect more than 1-2 proj. Still waiting for GGG to admit that they made mistakes and actually work on fixing them. You'll find me when pigs start flying. Last edited by PrimordialDarkness#3913 on Jan 21, 2025, 7:43:43 PM

Why keep using spark on a monster that will reflect the spark projectiles? Are spark builds that restricted in having a 2nd source of damage? If so, what a lame build...

" The way it works is you cast spark to kill some other monsters and this guy shoots back at you from off-screen a barrage of spells that kills you under a second. I'm thinking about lowering my cast speed at this point tbh and see if that helps... Last edited by DamnedLag#2004 on Jan 26, 2025, 6:17:29 AM
