Auction House Poll
Auction house yes. Tie the existing search API into the existing exchange, grant somewhere between 20 and 50 auction slots separate from currency orders to use for items, and assign gold cost for listing auctions based on a blend of item level and affix quality, basically the same as the disenchant formula from PoE Settlers league.

The game absolutely desperately needs an in game, game currency only, auction house.
It would fundamentally increase everyone's experience with the trading side of the game. The biggest improvement would be the complete elimination of the hassle of trying to message sellers and trying to get a simple response from someone. Absolutely this would encourage people to interact more with trading through the auction house, and the second best improvement is that it would encourage trading for cheaper items and selling items in bulk. We know you're capable of doing this, the currency exchange is the best thing that happened to PoE1 in years in my opinion, just take the next step and make an actual item auction house. If it takes you hal a year, ok, even a year, sure, if you manage to have it on release that would be perfect. Please, GGG, do this, do it right, and continue to work on the game systems and the game in general and you might have the best darned ARPG hack'n'slash experience. |

Its an older thread at this point but I'm going to bump this.
If the whole idea is to have an immersive experience within POE2 then I believe an in game auctionhouse similar to(yes I know) world of warcrack would be a good start. Make it cost something as a deposit to post so people arent endlessly spamming it and as they make successful trades they are rewarded with a lower deposit. Nothing annoys me more than finding something I want to buy and spending the next hour trying to get a hold of someone who speaks my language or replies at all only to find out they sold it hours ago. Im here to play the game. I find something on the auctionhouse, I pay the amount, and 5 minutes later it arrives and I can continue playing. I'm still in the world having fun which is the desire behind this game. |

I'm not even going to advocate for an in game AH. There definitely needs to be some barrier to combat botting and flippers, but some sort of instant-buy procedure would be really nice. use gold as a tax like the currency exchange. Keep it on the website and use a 2-factor authentication for purchasing to (as much as you can) keep it limited to actual players. Limit daily trades. idk. I don't claim to have the answer, but I feel like there's a middle ground to be struck somewhere. Having to get in contact with someone and meet up to trade is very archaic.

GGG who insists on his own opinion won't go back to do it.
And this skill is too difficult for them. |

No thanks - an AH would just ruin the game and its longlivety.
Its also obvious that this would dial real money trading from already problematic to insane. Also when a post starts by using the silent majority one already knows its a bad argument. Last edited by _N0ctus_#6387 on Feb 17, 2025, 9:10:54 PM

So the fear is that RMT'ing and botting would ruin the game if AH happened for trading items? Except RMT'ing and botting are already ruining the game. They fix that problem then all they have is annoying trading or an AH where players don't have to alt-tab or interrupt their gameflow by meeting up with some random person.
And that's assuming the random person responds at all. People are different now than when I was trading back in D2. Back then a lot of folks were nice. You even might friend them and party up. Sure there were scammers but today's people have been ruined by technology and don't know how to communicate with real people. They don't even know they are being a-holes, they think their behavior is "normal". Times have changed, we need an instant buyout. It solves many problems and doesn't really create anything worse than what it solves. Last edited by FruitLord#0833 on Feb 17, 2025, 9:39:37 PM

Yes.
Whatever allows me to sell without needing to interact with the buyer. I should be able to list my stash tab and see it replace with currency without any buyer interaction. I shouldn't have to leave my map for anything. |

" Thats just one thing - and Botting etc. would be way worse in an AH - way easier to manipulate. One of the main reasons is that an Auction house makes one of the main aspects of the game the worse choice to play - looting and crafting. If you can get any item at any point and everyone can do it easly the market will be flooded with cheap leveling gear and non perfect endgame gear. While perfect or near perfect gear will be almost unnafordable and probably mostly bought by ppl that use RMT to get currency or items. So in reality this means 97% of players will actually play the AH instead of the Game or farm the game for currency to go to the AH since the chance of them dropping something better while leveling or even in endgame than they can afford for cheap is probably less than 5%. An AH would also mean that RMT will be even more used since you can easily get any item without even spending time. D3 had the same issue - the RMAH was real money and ingame currency - but what i described was exactly what happened - everything got cheap when it comes to leveling gear and non perfect endgame gear - actually playing the game seemed pointless since you were able to get an item for cheap where you would never find a better one. All that did is supercharge Progress of players in a loot based progression system making the game boring fast. All of that also got even more RMT with their Bots etc. into the game ruining the game even further and make everything actually good unaffordable if you dont want to spend real money or are the luckiest person on the planet. I mean its not a secret that they removed the AH from D3 and didnt even implement one at launch in D4. Last edited by _N0ctus_#6387 on Feb 18, 2025, 6:55:32 AM
