Mixed Input Support
I have an Azeron Cyborg 2 on the way, which I plan to use alongside a mouse. For those unfamiliar, the Cyborg functions as a highly customizable input device that can mimic a keyboard, while its thumbstick can also operate in either a WASD-style digital mode or an analog mode.
Currently, in PoE, the thumbstick on such devices can only be mapped to WASD-style digital movement, which feels limiting compared to true analog input. Analog movement offers smoother and more precise control, which can significantly enhance the gameplay experience, especially in a fast-paced ARPG like Path of Exile. Here’s the key suggestion: Enable mixed input support, allowing devices like the Azeron Cyborg to function as a keyboard while supporting true analog input for the thumbstick. This should coexist seamlessly with mouse input, letting players use their mouse for aiming and interacting while still benefiting from analog movement through the Cyborg’s thumbstick. Since Path of Exile 2 supports controllers (and thus already has analog movement support), enabling this functionality for mixed input setups should be achievable without major reworks. Why this matters: It allows players to fully leverage the capabilities of hybrid devices like the Azeron Cyborg. It provides smoother movement and better control for those who prefer an alternative to WASD-style inputs. It increases accessibility for players who may find WASD movement less intuitive or ergonomic. Mixed input support would significantly enhance the flexibility and customization of the gameplay experience, aligning with Path of Exile’s philosophy of empowering players to approach the game their way.
