PoE 2 is actively damaging PCs and GGG is on Holiday without fixing it - Loading Screen PC Freeze

I can confirmin this error is happening just when playing PoE 2 with both of my computers, one with i5 8600k and gtx1080 and other with gtx 4070 ti plus and ryzen 7 7800x3d, the game just crash collapsing the whole pc, onlyway is force physical shutdown.

I too have been having this issue. glad to see i am not alone but it is concerning. hope ggg gets to this quickly

I FOUND THE SOLUTION HOW TO FIX THE HARD CRASHES:

At least it works for me...


Befor my fix the system will just crash around 5-15 sec after the game launches
and the whole PC will just shut down...


Right click on PathOfExileSteam.exe and PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe properties on both (not the shortcut but directly inside where the game is installed) then go to "compatibility mode" and . And "Run this programm in compatibility mode for: (choose windows8) and thats it.. I never had a crash again EVER after this and i have almost 200 hours of gameplay.

I love how GGG zealots blame it on 24H2 (because it has been mentioned in the known issues), but the only game that has this sort of issue is PoE 2.
Browse the web for scheduler issues in 24H2 if you don't believe me.

Haven't had game freeze on me completely for like a decade (and I regularly play PUBG - a game that has some of the worst coding)
Even after disabling core affinity for core 0 and core 1 PoE 2 crashes all the time.

I've had this problem since very start and managed to avoid it by playing on my 1080p monitor (I have dual monitor setup)

I only have this issue when playing on my 1440p@144Hz monitor.
I tried:
-playing on steam/poe client
-switching DirectX 12/Vulkan
-disabling upscaling
-setting max fps to 120-144
-exclusive/windowed full screen
-disabling nvidia reflex
-switching 1440p to my main monitor in windows
-forcing physX on my GPU
-disabling/enabling advanced gpu scheduling in Windows

I haven't tried vsync, clean install, fresh windows installation and probably a lot more, but I feel strongly discouraged testing a broken game with GGG's attitude and narrowing the problem to 24H2 because it feels like a good scape goat.
I know of people who crash every 1-1.5h on Windows 10 (just not full freeze)

I highly doubt that the issue is with cpu scheduler because I played without issue on my 1080p@240Hz monitor with 200-230fps and no crashes / freezes for days (same settings)

it's likely to be a gpu (nvidia?) driver, monitor driver and poe 2 engine/config file interaction.

It'd be cool to see/hear from someone with non-nvidia GPU suffer from the same issue.

Is also related to overclocking to a degree at least when i tested more with different overclocking setting, i think it just expose some unstable window in the overclocking setting on load that leads to locking, because on one of the high overlocking setting i have the game never lock on loading but you will hitch and hit the 100% CPU for a sec but never lock the game will load.

I don't manually overclock anything
I have a CPU undervolt on my 5800x3D but as I said I play PoE2 with no issue 200-230 fps on my 1080p monitor

The 1440p gameplay puts less strain on the CPU and more on the GPU indicating the problem lies somewhere within the gpu/monitor drivers and poe 2 config

issues with the Windows 11 24H2 update are several Ubisoft titles, including "Assassin's Creed Valhalla," "Assassin's Creed Origins," "Assassin's Creed Odyssey," "Star Wars Outlaws," and "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,"


PoE2's may have issues in addition to 24h2 problems. But to say no other games have been affected just isn't accurate.

So much crying but also providing 0 data(ok one had at least a little bit provided). So they can narrow it down or reproduce the error to actually fix it, but instead talking out of your...

I don't see a single post with your specs like windows, pc specs maybe a dxdiag, and I'm sure there is more.

(And if your argument is there are other threads with this information, then why is this one existing and making the other harder to see)

It is not only win 11 24h2 as many players stated. At least in my case it is both win 11 and poe2 - i played so many other games on the win update and the only game is poe2 that freezes my pc.
