Divine Orbs ruining the market

Im a casual player, full time worker and dad.

I wanna start off by saying that this game has been such a nice challenge and is going great, but i havent completed cruel act 3 yet

obviously there are streamers and unemployed people who have grinded the game more than anything else in their lives over the last week

the massive feedback problem is that when you have such a divided gaming community now, everything is based around guides and the "meta"

Divine orbs havent had a drop rate buff and ive never seen one

I play a monk and ive been following along to all the full time gamers, as i dont have the time to decide what all this bloat of information is, and just want to get into the game

the ring "Call of the Brotherhood Topaz Ring" has gone from 1 exalted orb (which i didnt have at the time) to over 60 exalted orbs or a divine orb

ive watched in the last 48 hours the game shift from people caring about all currency to there is only 1 real currency in the game that is almost impossible to get without having no other life apart from POE2

It has gatekept casual players completely out of the online trade market
Soon uniques will be going for 10-20 divine orbs once there is a currency bloat in the game. I am holding all my uniques i found rather than sell them because with the current absurd inflation i know they will go up in price. IT ENCOURAGES NOT TRADING BUT HOLDING ITEMS TO CREATE MORE SUPPLY/DEMAND

As a gamer who can spend maybe 2 hours a day on the game it is making it impossible to keep up or obtain items that have no way of being farmed or actively obtained. its RNG off a loot table larger than i can understand

please increase the drop rate of the currency for divine orbs to stop the market from being only tarded in these orbs

I cant see myself playing this game for very long if this remains the case. ill finish the campaign and be done with it.
If the main goal is to cater to the streamer base and people who have no job who can put 40 hours a week into the game then i understand this game wasnt made for me and ill happily go on my way.
I totally understand also that making things too easy or farmable will also crash the market. but at the moment it doesnt make sense

to top it off the online store doesnt function all that well and im not sure why it isnt an in-game auctionhouse
when a player doesnt check the value of their item and list it on the site they will be spammed with offers and realise...then they refuse to sell it
If it was listed on and in game AH the price could be predetermined to stop people getting ripped off and at the same time stop someone from listing an item and then asking for x50 for the original offer.

Im not expecting a 3 days fix like the roll issue but if i dont get this ring in the next 2 days my campaign will be done and that will be it for my early access experience, no interest in playing end game content when the gear isnt really achievable as a casual

I feel you on this. Divine orbs price out a very large chunk of the market base. The highest end players will set the market and we are stuck following it. It feels pretty bad, to be honest. Things were fun when costs were exalts. They were rare so getting them felt really good so you could use them to better your gear.

But now, for most people, they are rare enough that it’s hard to get divines from them and open the trade market.

Everything flipped. And that’s not great.

The speedsters set the market, and popular streamers (Ziz…) helped to dictate this switch. And that’s kind of sucks.

But I guess I can use my exalts to add mods to rates now
Every type of currency should be dropping like candy from a fucking piñata.

The point of orbs is to use them, not hoard them.
This is not a PoE2 thing, it's a general problem of trade-arpg's.
When you increase the Droprate of Divine Orbs, the prices just go up too. It´s the normal supply&demand system and you cant change this.
To lower the prices you'd have to increase supply, making rare uniques more common f.e. Its just what it is, the more time you invest, the richer you get. And you wont get mirrortier by investing 2 hours a day. (me neither, i guess =)

trade cannot be fixed by the game unless you forbid trading, which they won't - thats what ssf is for.
Farming salt on the forums since 2024
Why cant they offer a cap on how many items you can trade eg. 10 exalted for 1 divine max, fix the droprate accordingly
or make unique items only tradable for other unique items, so if you have you thats no good for you, youre stuck with it unless you straight trade for the item with someone who wants what you have.

its really offputting seeing an item for x1 exalted orb, which you dont have. Then 24 hours after you get the drop and go to buy your item but within 24 hours the price has gone up by x50
So ill finally grind out x50 ex orbs or finally get my divine drop only to have the market 2 days later asking for x5 divines. and the endless cycle continues

This is why trading at all in these games destroys it, you cant design a game with infinite RNG and no way of obtaining a specific item, and expect somebody to play it apart from the people who already played POE1 for the last decade.

It was nice of GGG to make an awesome campaign but i dont see this game having much value to regular gamers other than the main story, its only been out a week and if content isnt clearable unless you can put in 12+ hours a day to keep up with the market. If the nerf a build or change anything the players who have invested weeks into a character only to have the game swap up isnt gunna end well for em

Couldnt have been said any better

having shit gear, but not upgrading because you need to hoard your upgrade rolls for the people who can no life it is just wrong. It caters to the sweaty boys and leaves the rest of us with bricked characters. may as well just watch videos and kill shit on esay mode, if you cant progress you wont play
I'm not sure what divines have to do with it. If you think your desired ring would still only be 1 exalt and in your price range once people figured out it was good, you're mistaken. If it wasn't going to cost divines, it would be a high amount of something else.

You can't fix an economy by adding more currency either. Just like in real life, it makes the prices of everything go up.
I utterly cannot see why a divine has the value that trade currently places on it, it just rerolls values and there is no divine meta crafts because there is no crafting bench.

The inflation that has happened in week 2 has been ridiculous, the supply as more people reach higher levels has gone up but prices have rather than dropped gone through the roof.

There are without a doubt bots and farmers out there causing this.

the divine orb price is totally normal. Learn the game, quit complaining.
