Make the game more accassibile for people with arachnophobia

"

I am both genuinely surprised at just how many people are THAT scared of even virtual spiders and how many game devs just are like "Oooh, spiders are cool enemies" and like none of them ever add in arachnophobia accessibility QOL.

Then again, PoE has zero accessibility QOL, they really should add some for color blind and other improvements. May as well have an option to replace spiders with slimes with maws or something while they're at it

Pretty sure there is colorblind mode. 1 has it so 2 will if it isn't in already.

I'm really looking forward to that option as it would make my experience a lot more enjoyable & now that I've read this forum, I realize other people may want some other forms of accessibility which is probably fair.

+1 to the OP

First and foremost: Arachnophobia is not an extremely small niche, it's one of the most common specific phobias. I do not think that you really get what it means to have Arachnophobia, otherwise you wouldn't be a dick about it.

maybe because, even if its "the most common phobia", its STILL an infinitesimally small subset of people? And you CHOSE to play a game centered around monsters, beasts, creepy crawleys, etc.?

And that isn't even getting into the gradations of ACTUAL arachnophobia....which true debilitating fear accounts for an even smaller portion of the already-small population that THINK they have arachnophobia, when really they are just normally grossed out or weirded out. True phobias are exceedingly rare, including the most seen kinds.

Think about other "popular" phobias: claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) and Agorophobia (fear of open spaces). Should the game cater to them too? They are almost equally represented along with arachnophobes in society. The game should be spider-free, enclosed space AND open space free?

Be serious. It isn't mean and it isn't unjust to call this type of crap suggestion out for what it is. The request itself is tone-deaf to its own absurdity.

Make the game more accesable for people that go on gigatilt if they have to do your stupid ass trials. It's a known issue. Many players suffer this condition.
Someone was telling me about a game (don't know which one) that had an arachnophobia setting. Basically the spiders were replaced by just a simple box that would do all the same attacks. Apparently it was amusing, low effort, but appreciated by the spider-phobic audience.

They miss out on immersion, but can progress past areas that caused so much anxiety.

Don't know that GGG would be willing to do something along those lines, or even if it's feasible given all the other stuff they have to do, but meanwhile it wouldn't hurt everyone else to have some empathy. afaik nobody's trying to change your experience of the game, just have an option that will adjust their own enjoyment.
Hogwarts Legacy has it, simple addition and very helpful. Not much of a problem in PoE2 tho, it was a lot worse in PoE1.

There aren't "many people"....the handful of people that might post (literally like maybe 10 total), are probably the ENTIRE population of arachnophic players (with a legitimate issue) out of the millions that play.

Regarding the Hogwarts Legacy thing....that is exactly what's wrong with this suggestion. A CORE (literally CORE) part of Harry Potter is the freaking spiders. You KNOW there are spiders in HP. You KNOW an entire book is based around them. And you choose to play the damn video game?! And complain about spiders?! The developers made a huge mistake if that's a real setting there....

+1. I don't have it, but I can sympathize with people who do.

We did that in 1969, remember? You would've been in your 20's from the sound of it.
