On Death Effects
How many fucking on death effects do we need to have in this fucking game, we were already tired of those, and you put even more in the second one, holy fucking shit, stop with the on death effects for monsters... its more dangerous to kill a fucking monster than it is to get hit by them at this point.

Remove on-death effects. They don't belong in fun. They don't belong in a game with melee while casters get to ignore on-death effects.

I'd like to add my feedback on this subject as well. I was fighting a rare elite on a T10 just now. These keys are hard for me to come by so I'm careful. I was having no issue clearing it. I stunned the elite, rolled away from it, and a white human mob came with me. I turned on him, killed him and instantly f'ing died!! WTF?!?! There was zero animation or sound or anything, I just died.
I don't know who had the great idea that this should be in the game but I would beg GGG to re-examine this person's qualifications for game design. This mechanic sucks balls! I hate everything about it. If there is no telegraphing then I should never EVER have to worry about killing a mob. I habitually roll away from all bosses and rare elites now because I was getting one shot in early maps. Now I have to do this with every mob because who the hell knows when one in 500 might kill me with zero warning???? God, this pisses me off so much! This game is amazing and I can't believe how sucked into it I've become but this sh*t really makes me want to just uninstall it. Please fix this garbage mechanic. P.S. Oh, and I really "appreciate" how you stick it to the people who bought your highest level support package. If you use the "Throne of the Ruler Map Device", the person sitting on the throne insults you for failing when you respawn in your hideout. I so hate on death explosions. This is 99% of my death.
You cant see them, kill stuff of screen, run by, things explode and I am dead. Full life, 4k shield... This is no fun and if they wont get tuned down, or removed this will cecome my rrason to quit. |

I believe that on death effects alone doesn't have to be as bad if it's properly visualized. However poe 2 currently struggles with several problems that makes it real pain:
1. It's often not properly visualized 2. On death effects are way too frequent 3. Death penalty is too high I believe it would be much better if on death explosion would be bound to just one or two easily distinguishable enemy types and nowhere else, because even if you couldn't see the detonation itself, you could still recognize the situation based on enemy you attacked. Anyway, these issues are not limited to on death effects. I also dislike effects when something suddenly spawns beneath my legs out of nowhere. |
