Missing Characters - Main 40+ hours gone

So I recently had to merge my Pc Account(Unused) and my Xbox Account, which is the main way I play, in order to chat in game and use the Trading System.
When doing so it just said that they would be permanently bound. I can still see both in my accounts page on this site, but when I go to play on my xbox now it's taking me to the Character Creation as though I have no characters.

I have one at level 47 right now that I've spent over 40 hours on in the past week or so and I'm really bummed out at the moment.

How do I access my characters?

Hey Everyone,
I figured out the solution, I made the new character, got them past the first boss and went to character selection screen. I noticed in the top left corner it said account selection, and if I press the RIGHT THUMBSTICK on my xbox controller it lets me choose between the pc account and the xbox account. I selected my xbox one and it has all of my characters.

Thanks a lot! I had this very problem on my Xbox a few days ago and thought I needed to start from scratch.

But thanks to your post I could avoid that. :)

Minor difference to your procedure though: I didn't fight a boss but just logged out after spawning at the beach with a new character. Worked as well.
