Please remove player increased item rarity from the game

Rarity is the new magic find, they deleted all Quantity stats off gear in PoE 1 in favor of this new system. So this is most likely intended to stay for a while. 6-man MF groups are gonna print mirrors in day 2 of every league, completely inflating the economy. It's just what happens, the only way to combat it as a solo player is: copy the most meta,fast build you can find and then farm whatever content has the most divines per hour. Currently carrying trial of the sekhemas ascension seems pretty profitable, you get like 20-40 exalts per person that joins and if you can carry like 3 people per run that's like 100+ exalts every time guaranteed. This is just 1 strat, I'm sure many more will exist as more content gets added to endgame.

Came to forums to post exactly about the same thing, glad to see already many people gave the same feedback. Rarity feels mandatory, and playing without it just downright pointless. And it's against the core concept of the game, I should be trying to make my character stronger to farm higher content. Rarity says "make your character weaker and you'll get more stuff".
I think rarity should be tied to map level and mods. More map level = higher rarity. More map mods = also higher rarity. An equal playground for everyone, so everyone can do what an ARPG is about = making your character stronger. |

Agreed, Increased rarity of item found or MF, whatever you want to call it, isn't fun and isn't fair with a lot of builds.
This affix should at least be removed from the gears, because as it currently stands, this affix is far from being optional. If trading is crap today (Trade a piece of sh*t for a Divine), MF is one of the reasons for that. |

One is virtually mandatory and shouldn't be a choice, the other one takes a spot for useful stats. Outdated concepts. |

Classic "lose - lose" situation where you either can't enjoy the game because your strong build drops 20 times less than other people's builds, or you can't enjoy the game because you're stretching your build to be as weak as possible in order to have drops.
Idk why GGG keeps rolling their face into that again and again like bear to the honey, I guess "it was in D2 so we copy it blindly disregarding all logic" is good enough of a reason. |

Get rid of it completely. It doesn't belong in PoE. Rarity for me right now is the #1 priority stat and I have it on every piece of my gear. It's mandatory and just too effective. More better drops, more currency = more opportunities to craft BIS gear. I feel like they took 1 step forward in terms of game design & gameplay but 2 steps back with loot & stats.
