It was middle power build but today i haven't resources to respec and also can't clear t1 maps. You totaly destroying coc and cof builds and no free respec or at least discount to respec character.... nice

They are budging, yes, but not on some of the things I think they should consider. It really does seem that as soon as a player finds a skill/combo that's decently strong (not OP'd), GGG immediately squashes it. It truly does feel like they want players to really struggle, thinking in their minds that winning the struggle will be rewarding. It's not.

I don't want them to compromise their vision, but if making every move painful and daunting and frustrating for the player is what it takes to keep GGG's vision, I'm not on-board. Understand though this is how I personally feel and has been my experience. I'm assuming though for players like yourself and for many others, maybe not to the same degree :)

It'll never be a one-size-fits-all kind of game, 0 games are, and I'm not expecting that. I just think GGG should slow their roll with the hand-slapping by nerfing literally everything that proves to lessen the back-breaking slope uphill to make it through the content.

For me, I also don't even know what their vision is at this point. What's their design and game philosophy with PoE2? The recent nerfs feel super haphazard

I ended up with my own version of COC comet build and it took me like 5 minutes to adapt it to make it work just fine with the changes..

Not everyone is level 90. Most are still in act 3-5 having a respec fee of 40k+ gold.

Congratulations... you should release a guide for companies on how to ruin someone's game with a single update. I've been waiting for PoE2 for quite a while, but this is turning out worse than Diablo 4. At least there, I didn’t suddenly lose 40 hours of gameplay. It’s just a shame that I spent money on cosmetic items yesterday, because now both the money and the character are wasted. Thanks for the game.
If this was the "true" vision behind cast on crit/freeze etc. how did this make it into the game?

I've barely played poe in general and was able to figure this all out. Did GGG not playtest literally at all? Ridiculous.

Is this a beta test? Imagine nuking a build into the ground. Any semi-casual player is going to be furious.

This was such a stupid way to fix this problem. I even agree that it probably should have gotten a nerf but a 90% reduction is CRAZY. Imagine waking up to find your build now doesn't work at all and respec costs 300% too much gold or more gold than you have. Again, is this a beta test? How bad was your testing to not figure this out during development when you have experience with poe1?

I expected a 30% ish damage reduction, not 90%.

The funny part is triggers aren't even close to the strongest builds in the game. I'm looking at you Deadeye.

Thank you my guy. I was slowing starting to lose hope reading all those crazy negative comments of ppl using the latest patch as excuse to rage.

I wish to add:

1.
I absolutely agree, GGG should even more escalate balancing things (if necessary). This time is for exactly that.

2.
Yes, this was also what i understood. They wanna make the game slower. Which also means it becomes harder in a way, as superspeed clears are now seen as a thing in the past. Get used to that ppl, you actually have to play the game and dodge >.>!

3.
This should be treated as a testrun and one gets the opportunity to involve themselfs in that and should contribute to that. No one is helping or contributing with extremely rageful and insulting messages after only 6 days, 1 day after a patch that one didn't like, by treatening to leave forever.

4.
Feedback should be given in a respectful manner like:
"It would be nice to have the option to respec my build for cheap after changes that might have destroyed entire builds. As farming gold with a broken build is a hassle that takes too long. Until then, a cuple of new patches might be out, which change the landscape yet again. Therefore it would help us as community with testing the builds in an more efficient way."

Funny thing is, that some builds that ppl claim are dead now are not dead. They are just slower and do not superclear anymore. Which is exactly what GGG is striving to do. Try to understand the developer guys, and their motivation behind changes.


Exactly they stated that they decided not to update POE1 to POE2 because game will be different and that's why we keep POE1 it was plainly stated why and what's the difference. And as final thought no one was forced to beta test product, as that's what we exactly we do right now.


probably the most objectively correct and top level headed post in all of the patch note's threads.

if copying a busted build from some streamer makes you wanna quit the game just because you're used to what POE1 was like. okay, just go back to POE1.

if your own subjective feeling told you "build is super crazy, bombing entire screen with only a single button pressed" why didn't you think further "hey this might be a bit too crazy for a game where all other classes play out different from what I've seen"

you simply want the easiest most comfortable solution to play the game and this is not gonna work in an environment where devs clearly stated it will be more challenging than the first iteration of the game.

as previously mentioned: "its on you"...

HOWEVER,
- I do agree that free respecs should be included during early access, not only to prevent bricked characters after changes, but also to encourage EVERYONE to try out the entirety of the passive skill tree with no costs, thus providing even more feedback
- Tip of advice: multiple stacked cast-on-x conditions still work perfectly... just adapt.

Are you people for real right now? Yuu destroy a class, then you destroy it further while ignoring facts. What the hell is wrong with you?!?!? This is proof that you didn't learn jack shit from your mistakes, and that you don't care what people love about your game. Way to piss off the world. You deserve all the hate you get, and when your game fails, you can blame yourself for being an idiot.
Makes sense to balance things in EA for sure. Can I ask one favor? I'm in the middle of Act3 and playing Cast on Freeze, which doesn't work at all anymore even if I take all of the freeze buildup nodes I can reach.

Can we get some free respecs when major changes are made? I think Jonathan even mentioned this in the post-presentation chat with ZiggyD. I have no way to pay the gold respec cost and now I can't farm with my character, so I have to start over completely from the beginning of the game.

Please consider making free respecs happen with major balance changes. Thank you!
