How much of that time was spent following the development of PoE1? You make a lot of bold claims that you seem very certain of for someone who doesn't realize that GGG have already been doing this drastically differently to the rest of the industry for over a decade now.[/quote]

What they did has no relevance on what they are doing now. The forums are just getting started, it will be mess by January.

Hype week is almost over.

Insanity that people don't understand in 2024 what Early Access means.

Don't fucking play if you can't handle being a beta tester. Refund the game if you can't handle playing an unfinished game.

You buy into the hype and expect a finished product when it is so clearly not meant to be. You are testing a game before it is finished. Get over yourselves.

Everyone complaining "respect my time, I have a job I don't want to make a new character" then get lost, you aren't helpful. Even the people who are playing the EA silently, are technically doing themselves and others a disservice, but that is certainly easier to understand than people coming here and complaining about nerfs in a game that is not even finished. Mindblowing

This game used to respect a players time lost when changes of this nature were made.

Even in early access alpha and original alpha.

This no longer happens.

That is the problem.

No respec offered to 10000s of players who were already broke from respeccing. I get your point that changes were bound to be made as its ea. But not respecting your playerbase is just terrible.

Incredible. I have never seen someone so confidently reject the entire premise, the entire idea, of precedence before.

I clearly can't get you to falter in your beliefs, but luckily I have been watching the development of PoE since March 2012, playing since January 2013, and have beta-tested multiple releases of theirs before.

GGG are actually too good at listening to player feedback. It lead to a lot of people disliking the direction PoE1 took, and leaving. Because GGG listened to and implemented what the majority of players wanted. They compromised on what we in the community like to call, "the vision".

You can hope the game will die all you want, but I will continue hoping that GGG have learned from before and won't compromise so easily on what they believe a good game is.

I would be surprised if it was simply an oversight. Just based on previous actions I am assuming there is a balanced, logical reason why respecs were not handed out. That's really all there is to it. People can call me a shill or a simp or whatever FotM name there is for it but I figure that is what is most likely the case.

Edit: Also to address that respecs used to be handed out but no longer are, that's a result of GGG not breaking builds during leagues since probably Nemesis, or maybe soon after. I remember often having some part of my build or setup essentially deleted, but I was given a respec. In the actual released, production version of the game, it's not much of a consolation. The choice to not even need to hand out the respecs is by far the better one IMO.

Ubisoft made awesome games, they are going bankrupt because of things they are doing now. Doesn't matter what they did only what they are doing.

Ubisoft was on the decline long before (4 years conservatively) they became universally disliked. Same with EA. GGG have continued to be on the up and up for years.

Like I said, I won't convince you, but I don't think you're right.

Good. It was too strong and there were too many meta builds that used "cast on" as a main part of the build. Killing 30 white monsters is not hard either. that's literally just 3 or 4 mobs. Even less if it's a bunch of smaller ones. Get good.

Thing is killing 30 minion take a will then you have no control over where the comet go. And right after it proc the buffed up rare come at you.
I agree that it was to strong but that kind of nerf simply aint it, the trigger need some rework / buff.

With their changes they are bricking characters 30+hours of work for some, with no recourse, that says everything.

if game progress is meaningless in EA then there should be free respecs to try out things

if nerfs do have to happen due to "game progress has to mean something" there simply cannot be character bricking nerfs like this happening ...

PICK ONE

you cant have both
