I am so stuck on Act II boss, that I may stop playing

I may be the worst gamer in the history of games, but I have been so stuck on the 2nd act boss, that I am considering just not playing poe2 anymore (I cannot continue the campaign honestly).
I am playing a lvl 38 cold sorc. I have pump my lightning resistance to cap it (the yellow lightning do no damage to me). However, I have only made it to phase 2 once. All my other tries I have run out of red flasks, and not even a fourth of his life was missing. My approach is to circle him, drop Hypothermia, and frost bombs. I dodge his spears, and I shoot frost bolts at him to freeze him when I can. But his life pool is HUGE, and even if I manage to avoid most of his attacks, I get hit every now and then, specially when he calls his minions during the sand storm (I cannot kill them fast enough that they don't hit me). I am so frustrated. I have not been that frustrated while playing, and I love all the Dark Souls games (my favourite games). This is just so weird :( Last bumped on Dec 12, 2024, 7:19:08 AM

" open a party with help Kill XXX boss and in 5 minutes you will have people helping. I know it feel better to do it yourself, but at least you do not get stuck |

For now for help in chat and forming a party. Game isn't balanced as it's early access. No shame in asking for help if you just want to experience and learn the whole game.

" I would suggest some new skills if you have the gems. Here is what I used, and it was easy af. I'm not on my gaming computer so forgive the lack of a few details on support names. Frost wall blows up and does really good dmg when hit, it also draws enemies to attack it. Frost wall - whatever support increased freeze buildup Enfeeble Firebolt? - scattershot support, something else Frost bomb - the support than makes 2 more drop, something else Cold snap Flame wall - fortress support, something else Raging spirits Spam the frost wall underneath him whenever you can. If you shoot it with the firebolt it will explode and summon your raging spirits. Cast flamewall with fortress on top of him, most projectiles will also pass through this, and it summons raging spirits. Enfeeble whenever it drops off. Wind phase, run behind the bubble and immediately drop a frost wall on each side, flame wall in the middle for SRS. |

heres the thing for everyone suck on a boss:
theres 2 states you can be in and its important to identify which one ur in. 1: you are close to beating it, its doable, you just need to get a good run at it and not mess up on that bit thats getting you. 2: it feels impossible, you are failing by such a long way that at best its lottery of maybe i can beat it if i just luck out on one of these attempts. if you are number 2 then stop fighting that boss. just stop. go find the highest good mob count area you can comfortably farm and grind some items and xp. spending an hour doing that is productive, an hour bashing your head against a brick wall boss gets you nowhere. look at what u can change on ur char and just try to get more levels and items. the difference between getting to a boss 2 levels early vs being overlevelled by 5 levels can be really significant. |

I made it! I had to improve some of my armor because it was really not that great. My DPS improved significantly after that :) |

If you press "j" you can open the social tab and find parties that help you with kiling the boss.

I'd say the only issue with that fight is the massive health bar. It just drags on and tests your patience and concentration. A lot of the bosses have like 30-40% more health than they should have imo.
