At this time it looks like PoE 2 is doing great (even for an early game) despite the streamers screaming that the game is ending. This is what happens when you look at the bigger picture.

GGG knows their sh*t.
Impossible to please every snowflake who has their own ideas on how a game should be.
Espesially in what is basically a beta.
Good patch today allready based on feedback.
I'm here to provide objective facts of the overall picture. Personally, I think the game is fun so far. I'm just casually playing in Act 1.
I think the problem that current PoE players are looking at is the ability/desire to replay the game every league. If you’re looking at this as a play through once and move on to another game then it kicks ass. The slow loot progression, level locked skills, big zones and constant long boss fights are not a big deal. I bought darksouls, played through it once(had a blast) and then never touched it again.

If you look at it from the perspective of playing through the campaign every 3 months, or multiple times every 3 months it’s a bit of a bummer. Aside from the 30+ mil they made from EA keys, GGG makes their money off players continuing to come back and repeatedly spend money. Obviously a large portion of casuals are not coming back for leagues anyway. I saw a huge amount of whining about people who were unaware of Diablo’s ladder season system and were raging about having to start all over to experience new season content.
Steam charts show the peak at around 550K. Last few days its been around 250K. Thats still a high number but 50% loss in five days is alot. See how it goes in the coming weeks.

I agree, its a good state for a game in early access, or we could even call it a beta.

Theres a lot to improve still, some designs are bound to change over time and this is a fantastic foundation :)
The part of the game that takes the most time is fantastic, i've got high hopes for them to make some incremental improvements as they go to the rest and i'm patient so its all good.

Basically there are some massive holes right now but in development terms they aren't really that big, should be good.

Eh? Today's peak so far 480k, yesterday 490k. Out of context steam chart numbers aren't that meaningful but no wonder people are struggling with POE2 if even reading numbers off a chart is too difficult.
