I had that issue. Took me three characters to the end of act 1 before I started getting gems and gold to roll my own. That let me get to act 2 without getting one shot by bosses.

Really the rng is all over the place in terms of rarity for each person’s play through. What’s super rare to one person is super common to another.

Act 1 is easily cleared with random blue garbage you craft together, you do not need high quality rares.

Yeah, I hit a brick wall with my ranger in late Act II not getting any suitable gear drops, but I scored a legendary staff, so I went and rolled a sorc.
Before the first town I had two legendary items, which were mediocre for the build but carried me for all of Act 1 and most of Act 2 just fine before I found some better items.

However now I'm in act 3 with my Sorc and can't find anything with decent chaos resist, and I'm at a point where every other enemy is casting chaos/poison.
I also struggle to get any mats to craft/trade.
Its dire, and our guild bank is full of stuff for other builds.

serious quest, someone please explain me. i have level 70, 68 hours played as witch. how i didnt drop any legendary (unique) yet? my two friend play as much as me and they already dropped over 30 at least. something is bugged with my character or what?

Stop rushing through the game trying to force maps like it's poe1 and try actually playing the game and enjoying it.

I would've disagreed with you until I made my HC character and started playing more slowly. I am grinding areas, crafting more, checking vendors and I have pretty good gear at the end of Act 1.

So is it possible to have good gear through the campaign? Yes, absolutely. The potential problem is that it is a long campaign and making it longer by requiring grinding might not be fun for some people. Heck, I know the second my HC character inevitably gets one-shotted by something I am going to dread going back through the campaign at a slow pace to re-gear, particularly Act 3.

The way I describe the loot in POE2 (and to be fair POE1 was much the same in this regard) is:

Too little too late!

There is no better descriptor of the 'loot' in this game. Should we even call it loot anymore? Seems like loot is the wrong word to use doesn't it.

It is why the game doesn't give you lvl 1 uniques until you are level 60. Like yesterday I was playing and I got a unique 2 handed mace drop and I naively got my hopes up, I identify it and it doesn't even have a level requirement because its so freaking low level, and this dropped in act 3 cruel!

It is why there is this huge lag between the level of your character and the level of your gear.

I got a SSF level 60 warrior in act 3 cruel that is still using gear from act 1 normal because I can't get upgrades.
