Infernalist Demon form is a waste of a skill point for minion fire witch build.

Firstly, the shapeshift forms don't take stats from weapons. If you need a stat for certain spells and it's sufficient points for them are on your weapons, you can't use them in your Demon form. Seems as intended design. Why?

Secondly, Demon form acts like a weapon swap, or a second loadout if you will, meaning that all your minions just disappear and everything on map just jumps at you. You are a Demon, already sacrificing your own health, your minion brigade should not just go buy pack of cigarettes or milk.
