Stuck in Act1 after beating boss with friend.

After we beat the Act1 boss and I went to go talk to the no named one he never sent me to Act2. Nothing I did would change this. We had to disband party and my friend went to Act2 and made a portal. I rejoined and was able to get there through his portal and then it worked.
