Keybinding L3 and R3 on controller

When i bought the game i had a feeling it would be like POE 1 and not use the L3 or R3 for combat binds.

Im very confused by this decision seeing is how from what ive seen L3 is only a bind for menu stuff and R3 is only a bind to show in game info like your life and mana numbers and also some menu options.

In diablo I personally used L3 for healthpot and R3 to swap targeting modes(which I actually use swap targeting mode alot in POE 2) so it feels like GGG missed the mark on having 2 more extra binds for combat since controller is already very limited on keybinds.


Personally it feels very bad having 2 main keybinds completely not in use in combat, Also having to learn unoptimized keybinds for smoother feeling combat on controller feels bad.

The ONE thing diablo 4 did a bit better than POE was controller keybinds customization, but GGG can simply fix this by giving us the ability to keybind L3 and R3 on our action bars.

Another binding we are missing, is when filterblade does come out with an item filter, there is no way of toggling hidden items, atleast not that i can tell. Used to be R2+Down i think on poe1.
Agreed. Not being able to bind skills to L3 and R3 feels bad. I would much rather have dodge on L3 and be able to free up an extra button on the primary skill bar
I don't like dodge on the stick click, but I could put the map on it or something else to free up another button, maybe a potion.
Yes please. Also let us rebind dodge on right stick similar to how Diablo has it. Flick towards a certain direction and the character dodges that direction. GGG please!!

Everything should be keybindable however a person wants it. In every game not just this one.
I would like to be able to switch weapon by using L3
Came to forums just to see if anyone else was talking about this. R3 & L3 not having key bindings feels terrible, and it is an absolute waste of controller real estate. I'd absolutely love to have mine set to dodge and weapon swap. Hopefully, we can see this functionality added before final launch.

My biggest issue with aiming with the right stick is lack of skill buttons.

I use B for roll, which leaves A X Y, right bumper and both triggers for skills. Thats only six skill slots.

Left bumper is health pot so i dont have to stop moving to heal.

On some characters i need more skills, which means pushing another button to activate the second skill setup. This means thumb off left or right stick to do this.

I play the entire game with auto aim so my right thumb can activate skills and roll.

The auto aim needs to improve, but my biggest issue is lack of buttons for skills. I just wish there was mouse and keyboard support for xbox so I could play the way I want on my couch.

Mouse and keyboard allows 5 digits on left hand to operate movement, with no lack of bindable keys.

Right hand handles aiming, two skills, scroll wheel, scroll click, and thumb buttons.

Controller I only use two thumbs and my two index fingers. The lack of buttons on the controller is frustrating, and not being able to bind the stick buttons makes it even worse.
I would love this as well.

I typically bind R3 to pick up items so that I'm not randomly casting when trying and failing to pick something up.
