My opinion, poe 2 frustrating and not fun

I agree with OP. 2,500 hours on Path of Exile 1, I did not bat an eyelid at buying early access because I love the game. And honestly I loved Path of Exile 2.... right up until I hit the ascendancy. My only question to the developers is why? Why make it unreasonably difficult to improve your character? Why make players who have been supporting you through so much feel like as long as they are not a streamer they are not even being taken into consideration?

I hear the people saying "just get good" and to you I ask, when? When do you have time? Do you have a full time job? A family to feed? Other friends and other games to play with? Do you actually want to spend thousands, and I mean thousands, of hours grinding for the off chance you might ascend when so many ranged attacks, traps and just an unreasonable boss stands in the way? And you can't even GET HIT?

Why have defenses? Why have flasks? Why have any sort of mitigation when clearly the developers expect you just "get good" and never, ever, get hit by an attack?

2,500 hours on Path of Exile.

I am so disappointed I would like a refund.

Thanks GGG
I just cant imagine doing the campaign more then once!

The fun is the endgame but doubt many people will get there in its current state.

I don't mind the difficulty but drops/currency should be increased especially after beating a boss

Worst game release in my 30 years of gaming.

wat haha

i mean.. it didn't even break 1 mill on steam. any successful game these days does and yes those games have their own clients, console launches and other client launches. and they gave away and still are giving away so many free codes to play...
Seriously just got my second char to maps, and it just feels bad generally.

Crafting is reduced to just get lucky, "killing a rare monster should feel rewarding" turned out to drop basically nothing instead of a screen full of trash. The areas in the campaign are big enough you can only pray you are going into the correct direction, because otherwise you spend a boring treck of 30minutes. Skill/Support feel like non-choices most of the time...

The only good thing I can say about it so far is the art style and boss fights - please remove that stupid dodge roll though and give us a real dash.
Are there any good frenzy payoff skills?

Learn the fights, it should take no more than a couple goes per boss. Most should be one and done. I am a pretty casual gamer and not good at souls games but I am fine with this. And ascend? just do the trials.
Poe2 is different than other ARPGs, i love it. Go play older ARPGs if you dont like it. There is enough out there who are faster, no brain on click to win. Difficulty and slowness is perfect. It gives your actions meanings and is impactful

It’s just like most other ARPGs now, slow-paced, centered on dodging, and lacking loot. It feels more casual overall, except for the overly difficult campaign. What once set it apart was the fast-paced gameplay and the excitement of loot explosions.

It’s clear they’re trying to tone it down to appeal to a broader audience. But this isn’t Path of Exile anymore, it’s something entirely different. That’s why there’s so much frustration on these forums. People are only reacting this way because the game still carries the name Path of Exile, yet it no longer feels like the same game.

Yeah defenses, so we can all max the resistances, and happily ignore all monster mechanics ever after. Same thing that makes PoE 1 have no gameplay.

So you're saying the game is too casual/easy, and...

i agree it is significantly overtuned. It is set like this to frustrate players, they probably are working out how far they can go before people just leave the game.

My opinion, i think they have overdone it, too many mechanics that are almost a one shot, too little decent drops.

The game. is. not. fun.

That is why i bought it, to have fun. I know some may enjoy it, but it wont last, the novelty will wear off and they will also be frustrated.

But on the good side, it is a lovely game, just needs tweaking.

you're saying the game is too hardcore/difficult?
