Freeze Buildup mechanics

I just fought the A2 boss and had multiple attempts. On some attempts i just could not freeze it and not even get freeze build up on it. On some it worked fine, i could freeze repeatedly. Is there some kind of bug?


Further i want to know how freeze buildup works exactly. I freeze them and after the freeze gets consumed their ailment treshold increases. So it makes it harder to freeze them again, but can this disable freeze buildup completely? I thought it would just make it slower, but sometimes after a freeze i cannot get even freeze build up on monsters.

I'm having the same issue. Just fought Mektul, The Forgemaster a few times and every time I got freeze built up on the initial attacks, then once he was shattered out of that no more freeze would build at all for the rest of the fight (also making Cast on Freeze worthless).

Is this being looked into?

sometimes THE SAME boss gets freeze built up and sometimes he is simply immune
