This is freakin stupid
" As I like/liked the PoE1 that much I hate this night-time resurrection simulator. You have to dodge all the time almost continuously. There's nothing from the heritage of the previous game, unfortunately. I'm thinking about who could be in the closed beta test? Any casual player or just the hardcore no-lifer ones or the company ignored the feedbacks? The balance of the game is super f@cked. I made that mistake I bought directly the supporter pack here, otherwise I'd redeem my money in Steam Store. Never again. |

" tbh i kinda expected it to be like this because way back in PoE you were side stepping constantly, if you did not you were ded in an instant to off-screen mobs lol. sure its a bit different, and i hope they do give us more portals for bosses on SC, but the lack of face tanking is 100% with the original spirit of poe |

We are within the first day of early access.............

I'm still in act 1, playing some kind of frost sorc and i must have died over 50 times already. It just feels weird. But i guess we're supposed to play that one viablo build for each class not even a day into the game?

I don't like the move to Souls Like either. It was my immediate fear when they announced an active dodge roll mechanic. Adding that mechanic requires a totally different combat design. For those that like the souls like punishment game play this will be the greatest arpg ever. For me, it feels like a second job. I don't need a second job and the stress it brings, my first job already provides me that.

I hate to agree with the post sentiment, but this isn't PoE, this is definitely Souls with a PoE skinning. Unless they do some serious gameplay rework, this game will still be successful, but will not have the longevity PoE1 has had. The mark has been missed on this one.
Hoping for a rework to get back to the PoE1 roots. Spamming kills and explosions for loot drops... not dodge dodge dodge. |

POE1 was almost as hard as this to start with, that's what made it appealing. If you just want pewpewpew omg 26M DPS then that's what D4 (and sadly what POE1 has since become in the last few years).
I'm really glad to have the slower and more difficult tempo. "Gottagofast" was a stupid meme and it dumbed down the player base - time to skill up irl. |

" You do realize this is an opinion, right? There are lots i.e. thousands of people who don't feel as you and others do about what PoE "became". We love it. Maybe PoE 2 becomes the game for those of you who want to have to sluggishly lumber through progression, and the rest of use can continue the faster paced original. It's day one of Early Access, but I've already closed the game for a while, until more work has been done on it. That's how I feel. |

Of course, you are welcome to your opinion, however this doesn't change the objective fact that POE1 was always designed this way and with this as their core intent.
In the inital leagues, it was a major achievement to get to Dominus and make it to level 38. The game designers have literally said that they intend to keep POE1 and POE2 operating in parallel, for those players that prefer to play the Diablo-style of pewpewpew. Like, they've literally given you a parameter and game that suits you alrady and will continue to do so. |
