" I play in QUADHD, 2560x1440 240hz Oled monitor. 4080 = 16GB, I have 32GB of RAM, and an ultra-fast NVMe. As I mentioned, only PoE2 gives me issues. My PC is extremely well-configured and up to date, and I have no problems with any other game. After the new patch, FPS dropped drastically, and there are frequent stutters that make the game unplayable. This company is a disappointment. They’re making me drop the game due to their lack of care. I've never seen a game in this stage of development with so many issues. Last edited by SkyHak#2661 on Feb 6, 2025, 7:59:53 AM

" This game has little to with GPU and storage(apart from loading shaders), but is primarily CPU heavy, all current problems relating to performance is directed to the CPU. Stuttering is generally related to CPU bottlenecks and unoptimization, general solution for this is to hard limit FPS, you can do that by Nvidia control panel, there is a dedicated option for that, limit FPS to 100 as a test, and then adjust accordingly, if this doesn't work at all then try limiting with Riva tuner statistics server. Also, you might just be thermal throttling, as high CPU usage related to high temps. Apologies if you have already tried all of these. Last edited by Climet#7103 on Feb 6, 2025, 8:12:05 AM

" I am not risking my PC to check if it's still happening, and I am not going to roll the dice in order to see if it's fixed or I'm just a few hours away from a freeze. Based on latest responses on this thread, the other big one and another one that has popped up, it's still happening. If you read this threads, plenty of people over the weeks think it's fixed, then it freezes again. I myself was able to play for hours before getting a hard freeze. Not really looking forward to play for some hours, think it's fixed then having to power cycle my pc. That's what I meant by "I was hoping this patch I could finally play, but I guess I'll have to keep playing console." |

" My game froze on the first load screen before selecting a server the second time I started the game after the new patch. It may be that whatever fix they put in only works inside the game itself? who knows. I will try some more, but keep the task manager open and play with 2 cores disabled so the risk of total lockup of PC is minimal. Maybe they managed to reduce the problem but not fix it entirely. It's clearly not fixed at least, so they will have to do more work. |

If people are looking for some optimism here, I'll add mine. I have not had a single hardlock on 0.1.1c after two months of hellish conditions and constant reboots.
I have disabled all safeguards... No more editing the Config file to disable multithreading before starting the game. No more disabling multithreading in options before each loading screen. No more PoEUncrasher. No more process priority manipulations. No more messing with BIOS settings. No more reverting to 23H2. It just works now. If you had this issue, it's worth another shot now. |

Issue still ongoing. I can actually log in further and get to a map, but I crash soon after when switching to a new location.

To the people still having it, now is probably the best time to resend a dxdiag, and also have the error report command activated (if that thing even works due to freezes). Also refer the issue as "freeze", not "crash" to avoid possible confusion.
Here's hoping everyone get to play without trouble soon. |

" People on the internet are very ignorant and lack knowledge. All I see is people saying, "The problem is your PC, it's this, it's that," which is ridiculous. Understand this: My PC has no issues with any game except PoE 2. No overheating, no installation problems, nothing. I've been using PCs for 30+ years and understand more than 99% of the people reading this. The problem is with the game, specifically for those using an X3D CPU and the latest version of Windows. They recently disabled some feature, which stopped the complete system freeze issue, but performance has dropped drastically. Before the patch, the only way I could play was by disabling multithreading before entering a portal and enabling it again afterward. My FPS was always 200+, but if I didn’t disable multithreading before going through a portal, it would instantly freeze the system. Now, it doesn’t freeze anymore, but FPS drops to sub 60, which is absolutely ridiculous. Last edited by SkyHak#2661 on Feb 6, 2025, 2:01:24 PM

" I did some more testing and Im still having complete freezes, even with 2 cores disabled for the game. I dont even understand how that is possible, but it appearently is. Whats worse is that I now also have worse performance. The performance was never all that good for me in the game before, but I feel its even worse now. So the patch honestly made things worse for me somehow. I almost wish the game was bad so I could forget about it and move on. But its actually very good. Never had a worse love hate relationship in my life I think. They also removed the issue with the game freeze from the known issues thread and put it under recently fixed. So, I guess GGG now considers this bug fixed?? Why do they remove the issue when they have release a "potential" fix, and ppl still report total freezup of game?? They gave up or what?
