Despite using PoEUncrasher, my game crashed twice within two hours. Tweaking in-game settings does nothing to help. Yesterday, without changing any of the settings mentioned above, I was able to play for four hours straight without any issues. It's really unreasonable.

While the Path of Exile Series does not have an official motto, its core philosophy has always been to provide a deep and complex ARPG experience that is accessible to everyone for free. The series’ free-to-play model is a fundamental part of this vision, as stated by Grinding Gear Games over the years. Therefore, saying that the Path of Exile Series exists to make this genre available to everyone at no cost would not be inaccurate. However, if constantly crashing in loading screen prevents players from playing the game—even after spending money on it—it is fair to say that this vision is not being fully realized by GGG itself. It's just really sad to see GGG not follow its own philosophy.
I have had no issues other than low ish 20-70fps and the occasional minor bug in the 300h of gameplay since launch.

Starting on Jan 30th 2025 (after the latest patch to POE2) my entire PC locks up when loading into maps. This seems to happen 50% of the time, as sometimes I load in and other times my PC requires a hard reset/reboot to fix it. I am unable to Alt+F4 or ctrl+alt+del and it completly freezes my pc.

I will also note that Nvidia and Windows both had large updates on the same day (Jan 30th 2025). I rolled back my Nvidia driver to the previous version along with roling back the windows update to test if I still had issues.

I still get the PC lock up issue and can only assume it is a problem with the latst update to POE2 from GGG. I have reapplied the Nvidia and Windows updates as it doesn't seem to be the cause.

Unfortunatly this makes the game unplayable in its current state and will have to wait for further updates by the GGG team.

Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 26100) (26100.ge_release.240331-1435)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
Memory: 32GB DDR4 RAM

Hopefuly these datails help GGG solve the problem and look forward to getting stuck back in at a later date!
keep up the good work!
you people should really stop whining here as i doesn't do you any good, GGG is aware of the issue and we simply do have to wait until its fixed, whining won't make it getting fixed faster as its simply not a quick fix by any means, go touch some grass outside your house, then come back and simply play a different game, there are plenty of games out there!

its not a windows issue.

Windows allows to let it happen. PoE doesn't have access to your hardware.

And yet happens in Linux too? Yeah that doesn't track.

So, you paid 30-450$ and it aint work? Just shut up and wait.
Waited for 2 months? Wait some more. Maybe 2,maybe 6. Just go play a different game, come on. Simple.

lol

Isn't this forum for early access bug reports? Also, since when did reporting an issue count as "whining"? If everyone just "touched grass" instead of giving feedback, how would anything ever get fixed?

Guys hear me out!!

Go to task manager and switch POE CPU priority to "Below Normal".

You're welcome!

It's not enough...

Just go to task manager when starting the game, find the pathofexile process, right click on it and select "Set affinity", then uncheck "CPU 0" (this should be enough for 9800x3d). No freezes after that, can't see any performance hit.
If you don't want to do it manually each time you can use Process Lasso app for this or PoEUncrasher from GitHub.

lol, walking into this thread on page 490 thinking you came up with some new solution that hasn't been posted a thousand times by now.

Because people still say they can't play the game? Core parking helped me, even w/o game crashes.

By the time they fix this, it will be free to play, and our 30 bucks will have been a donation.
Greedy, wokish company didn't want to upgrade really old game engine from like 2000.. they get what they deserved, hope they never fix it.
