POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

I do not have this issue so I cannot test. I see a lot of crashes happen during loading. When loading I also see the CPU can be or is maxed out.

So i'm just wondering for those crashing, if you reduce "Maximum Processor State" from 100% to 50% in windows, do the crashes continue? Just troubleshooting.

it is fixed for me now.

my PC kept freezing during loading screens where i had to hold the power button to restart it, this happends on computer with an intel Cpu Core i5-12400F and a Gpu GeForce GTX 1080.

recently i decided it was time to get a new PC anyways for better performance so i got a new computer with an AMD Cpu Ryzen 5 7600x and a Gpu GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, the freezing happend again within my first 20 minutes of playing Path of Exile 2.

so PC freezing happend on my old PC with an intel Cpu and on a brand new high-end PC with AMD cpu so it can't be an AMD Cpu issue.

the only thing both PCs had in common is that they are using windows 11 24h2, i decided to download windows 11 23h2 from UUP Dump and do a fresh windows install of the 23h2 and i have not crashed since..

i'm no expert but this HAS to be a windows 11 24h2 issue, i am not sure if i even believe the people claiming to have 23h2 and it still freezes, i was a non believer myself cause i couldn't be bothered losing everything on my PC to go back to 23h2 but i finally did today and i haven't crashed since and i normally crash every 10 minutes on both INTEL and AMD CPUs.

edit: incase i do crash again i'll let u guys know but so far 23h2 has solved it for me.

Well idk what to tell you. Rolling back didn't fix it on my desktop, still crashes the whole system on 23h2. Rolling back on my laptop did fix it. So clearly much more complicated than you think.
Same issue
Hello,

It's been a while I stopped playing because of this issue, I waited for the patch and this is rather disappointing. GGG has absolute no clue how to fix their game engine.

If I ask for a Steam refund, will I get refund for EA + stash tabs I bought ?

I know it might not be helpful and already known, but I'm playing on Windows 11 up-to-date and using the tool BES to limit the CPU usage to ~90% on the poe process.

It's the only way for me to play the game and I'm on 180 hours playtime already. Sometimes it's still crashing, but I enabled it every time when I'm on the login screen before I pick my character to proceed.

You can also limit your cores but it doesn't work out well for me like just using 6 out of 8 cores.

And normally, you guys shouldn't be able to brick your PC with it, as holding your power button for 4 seconds enables the BIOS soft-off and just restart your system after.

It's just super annoying when you have friends you play with, without any issues...

darth microtransaction was too busy talking about warriors that he forgot to bring up the 800+ pages of people crashing
my Brother and I both have the same issue its very frustrating.
The recent patch appears to have significantly worsened the problem.
The manual core and usage limits I previously used are no longer effective.

I hope the dev team prioritize investigating this issue and finding a resolution or workaround as soon as possible. Good Luck
