POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
I am getting this issue now. I have been playing POE 2 on this PC since it launched day 1. About 3 days ago I decided to do a fresh install on my M2 drive, wiped all the partitions and did clean install of windows 11, updated all drivers and now it freezes every loading screen.
If I change the CPU affinity it will crash to desktop instead of lockup. I am using AMD Ryzen 5600X and Nvidia GPU 4070 TI. |

" You must not be a very good software developer then lmao. Have you heard of scripts? And to those saying that rolling back is not a universal fix. Yes, I agree it isn't, but for 98% of the people rolling back will fix the issue. It's the first thing you should try if you do have the issue. |

Rolling back fixes exactly nothing. Or rather the roll back itself has nothing to do with the "fix", if it happens at all.
If this was an issue specific to OS, then that OS and only that OS would be affected. This logic applies both ways, if rolling back to another version or a different OS were to fix this issue then no user should be experiencing the issue in that OS. In the case of PoE2 hard crash, the crash is independent from OS, as we can see from reports where people on Windows 11 24H2, Windows 11 23H2, Windows 10 22H2, different Linux distros report encountering this issue. For example I'm on Windows 10 22H2. I crash. I have a friend who owns a netcafe, they have the exact same setup for all their PCs. These PCs btw. were all built the same way, same day. Some work, others don't. About 1 PC per row of 10 has this problem. Another point to be made is that rolling back updates is not recommended approach. Those updates are there for a reason besides contributing the bloat. For removing RAM sticks... I have no words for that. If someone's entire life was revolving around PoE2 (streamers for example) it would make sense since it's their livelihood but for someone who is using their PC for other things beside PoE2 this is incredibly unhinged/bad advice. Not to mention not everyone would have the ability to remove a RAM stick properly. Furthermore, I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others be aware of the issue. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

Saw in one of the topics about this that disabling core affinity 0-3 could help. Played a few hours now with no crash and before this i was crashing every 10 minutes every since installed W11.

" Sure, let's look for the part where a product can brick your OS, break your PC and not tell you about it, while at the same time preventing customers from having the "Early" and the "Access" they paid for. I'm guessing PC bricking games are perfectly normal in your neck of the woods, I mean, it is obvious that most of us, even though we´ve been part of Alphas, Betas and EAs in the past, haven´t seen something like this ever, but you´re the "expert" so we should do what you say, which is, shut up, and praise be to GGG, right? (sarcasm). A couple responses in what is now almost 2 months of EA, that boil down to "yeah, this exists" can be described as communication in the same vein as me saying "sure thing babe" when my wife is pissed at me for some reason. So, take that stick out from where the sun don´t shine and beat yourself with it to see if you can develop a functioning brain via concussive force, because it is obvious you´re missing it and let the rest of us try and get actual responses to an issue that is not just a "bug" it's a "PC breaking bug". Stop defending your "favorite Corporate Entity" and have some empathy ffs. |
