Not sure why Windows would push an update for something that isn't their problem. This is 100% related to poe.

I completely agree with you. What does Windows have to do with it if the problem of hard freezing occurs only in poe and poe 2. Even taking into account the change of directx from 12 to 11 or vulcan. In other games on the same directx 12 there are no dead freezes, only poe has this problem. This is a problem on their side that they still cannot confirm. This problem has been around for about a month since the release of the patch for poe 1. Also silence on their side. kekw
Same issue here. System randomly crash/freeze at the loading screen. I have to hard reset my pc at least 4 times today. I want to enjoy this game but not at the expense damaging my setup.

In addition, I had to repair POE2 client today from the crashes.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
GPU: RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB
RAM: 32GB
Windows 11 Pro 24H2

I'm not going to jump hoops reinstalling older windows just to play this. I have zero issues with other games, only POE2.

The latest Patch 1.0b didn't fix this.

Also just adding my +1 to this. Same symptoms as posted all throughout: hard freeze on loading screens/transitions, requiring a forced manual reset of the PC. [Interestingly, in my case, my monitoring software does not record 100% CPU utilization, as others have reported -- though I definitely am due an upgrade for my CPU soon at any rate.]

The issue pretty much kept me from playing all of Saturday; it seems like I got lucky Sunday evening, as I had a 3-hour session with no issues, having disabled Nvidia Reflex. But today, after the patch, I got an instant freeze on loading the game, prior to login; then subsequently got through one map before hard locking yet again. Will park it for now, awaiting an update.

GPU: RTX4070
CPU: i7-8700k
RAM: 32GB (DDR4, 3200MHz)
OS: Windows 11 Pro, 24H2

GPU is running a modest undervolt, CPU has been OC'd for effectively 6 years now with no issues, despite its obvious age. Performance otherwise has been pretty good, comfortably sitting at 80-120 FPS outside of town, etc.

Same issue, laptop pleb here - Alienware M17 with RTX laptop 3070...
I am already in love with the game and am borderline desperate to play it but not risking my PC...

GGG,

You have a massive and faithful community, even more so now with the release of this masterpiece of a game.
We all appreciate its not only this but a million things you have been working on since release ... but you have to rectify this ASAP and not let a passionate fanbase risk their rigs worth thousands of dollars.

Please fix this and issue an official post so that what seems a worryingly high number of people can keep enjoying the game they have monetarily supported you on!

Best regards.

Not 100% related to POE only.. read this:

The issue we have is in many cases related to windows 24h2 update

Windows website known issues also mention this.

POE 1 causes loading screen freezes for some users as well in past few weeks, and other games you might not play .. or did you play all games ever in past 2 weeks?

With all due respect, that's a matter of speculation. Obviously no one has played every game, but the fact is that a minority of games have this issue. Couldn't it be the case that these minority of games are flawed and need to be fixed? Some on 23H2 still encounter the freezing. Clearly some developers avoid this problem entirely, so why can't GGG?

then why tf are u here?

To provide feedback that it solved the problem of "PC freeze while loading screen" in my case. Could be useful for some others, you know...

Come on guys don't be mad, just spend the money on a good PC... If the game still does not work upgrade your graphic card, if still not get 128GB ram. If still not buy an M.2 SSD...

Last check upgrades your monitor to a 244hz monitor no smaller than 32 inches...

If the game still does not work don't worry you are now set to play Ark Survival Evolved... and many other games out there...

Enjoy and hope this helps.
