I've just submitted another refund request with steam. 19 hours played, 40+ crashes. So sick of this. I shouldn't have to disable cores or download third party software to limit my CPU % just so I can kill the crash with task manager. It's such a ridiculous problem and I really just can't wrap my head around how they can't even acknowledge this issue. I feel robbed and cheated. I would have rather just spent $70 on Call of Duty. Talk about a cash grab, at least the COD games don't behave this way. Unbelievable.

interesting 'speculation' from peepeepoo#1611:
"FYI: No "solution" here will ever fix the issue. The only true solution is disabling multi-threading. To lessen how bad the crash happens, you can disable CPU cores on the process so it only freezes the game and not your PC. Nothing else will help. Claims saying it's 24h2 are untrue as well. It happens on older versions of Windows as well. This is an issue with their async thread code resulting in memory violations. It causes an infinite loop trying to read an invalid pointer when loading new levels, which never completes so just eats performance. The reason why disabling some CPU cores works to not cause a complete crash is because processes do not all share the same threads on those cores. Likely if you disable CPU0 from POE2, Windows core functions will have some headspace on main to work with so you can end the process from taskbar." ----------------------------------------- shroud on loading freeze: https://www.twitch.tv/shroud/clip/AcceptableHelplessToothPipeHype-dsVn3w7gj56to03c https://www.twitch.tv/shroud/clip/CourageousProtectiveSeahorsePicoMause-SFHYX724-RY-e18 Last edited by godimpulse#1516 on Dec 16, 2024, 10:05:09 PM

I have actually managed to solve this issue for myself it seems. I went through every possible solution I've read on the forums, reddit, youtube, etc...I upgraded to the newest version of windows because originally I was suffering from a rather large amount of crashes while attempting to run maps. After upgrading, the crashes increased drastically and I started consistently having my entire PC lock up on me like everyone else has.
The solution for me (which sucks to have to do but the game hasn't crashed a single time for me since) was to simply change your PC's power settings to power saving mode. Now, the game frames have absolutely tanked for me (I was able to get 120+ on max settings) and they're unfortunately now hovering between 60-100. But nonetheless, I'm no longer crashing. This needs to be addressed still however. The performance tanking this badly is completely unacceptable and I'm really banking on this upcoming patch to somehow be the magical solution to everyone's issues. Please at least attempt to change your PC to power saving mode. I tried the BES method that everyone was discussing and it didn't help me in any way whatsoever. Lastly, For some reason whenever I would open my Nvidia app, POE 2 was being detected as Path of exile 1 so it showed 2 different POE 1s in my games. After swapping my power mode to power saving, it randomly started to detect Path of Exile 2 in my Nvidia app. (This could be a very odd coincidence but maybe it helps somebody in some way) |

New patch confirmed- no single word about this issue. Can not believe it.

At least Shroud called them out for their lack of communication. At this point I guess we just pray they brick a streamer's PC over break and they get tons of bad publicity until they're forced to acknowledge/fix it.

This happens to me on first launch and I have to hard reset. After that I get to play normally until I quit the game. I can't recall what workarounds I have done anymore but at least I am on Vulkan. Just figured to drop older Ryzen to the table as I am one month from upgrading to 5700X3D so at least it's not only on new CPUs.
I have multithreading always on. I have overclocked CPU and undervolted GPU. I have exceptions on virus stuff on everything involving any games. Latest NVIDIA drivers. I have 165hz monitor and have capped framerates below(not that I would hit it with this CPU). I am on a weird windows build here. :P RTX 3060 Ti R5 1600 1st Gen 24H2 Insider Developer Build 2702 (which I would blame if this wouldn't happen to others as well; I use always insider builds as I am a tester) This used to happen like 4 times in a row and then it just magically starts to not happen. Played 10h without breaks two days ago no freezes. Last edited by shaga#1453 on Dec 16, 2024, 11:27:45 PM

GGG, why don't we get an update on this issue? There are two threads on the bug forum with more than 170 pages.. Please just keep us informed. Patiently awaiting a hopeful soon fix as I am getting tired of a pc freezing +5 times per day.
