I kind of agree with you. This should have been a new game. Its pretty fun and my crew had a blast playing but everyone agreed its not really even remotely similar to PoE1 in terms of gameplay.

Im not sure if it should be just poe1 2.0. A lot of people say poe2 will and is the future for arpg games and and not just a fancy game with just minor changes from the previous game. Games need to evolve at a point and try something new even when it might upset some people
I had a lot of fun but still need to get comfortable with it. |

PoE 1 = Hack and Slash real-time isometic aRPG
PoE 2 = Tactical real-time isometic aRPG That's what I would label them as. But really a lot of game sequels are different genres or gameplay. Like Dragon Age 2 was 3rd person whereas Dragon Age Origins was isometric |

Instead of making up wacky names, we could also just call it... an ARPG. Like the 900 other disparate games that fall under that term now.

Whatever someone wants to call it does not matter. Very likely having to farm the level 2 area for days just to be able to finish the bosses to progress forward means D4 is in no danger of being over taken by POE2. I predict it will be below 5 digit concurrent within a week.

POE2 is soul-like to me, think it's too hard in leveling even in campaign.
